I play WoW on WiFi, 300-600ms pings normally. LAN, also 300-600ms. Equal, right?on LAN, ping was 300-600.

Well not really ... I find that WiFi connections, even with the same ping as LAN, tend to be more erratic. e.g. when I play dota over hamachi with my brother in UK, I have to use LAN because with WiFi the connection is "jerkier" (for lack of a better term to describe).
