2) UOB VOX Card - Monthly Fee: RM6.36 (VOX Visa Card)
[*] Monthly fee of RM 6 is waived with just 1 swipe a month
1. Even if I swipe the card for RM 1 once a month, the monthly fee of RM 6 is still waived, right?

2. 1 May: Swipe RM 50 on an online purchase
3 May: Swipe RM 1 on an online purchase
5 May: Swipe RM 10 on an online purchase

It is stated that 5% Cash Rebate is given on all online purchases with a minimum spend of RM50 in a single receipt/transaction.

Based on the given example, can I gain 5% cash rebate on RM 1 and RM 10 online transactions?

Thanks for the clarification. rclxms.gif I wrongly assumed that only a single RM 50 online activation is needed to activate the 5% cashback. Guess that I was wrong. blush.gif

What is the best way to apply for UOB VOX Card? Applying for the card in UOB Headquarters in Jalan Raja Laut, or use online form?

spreeeee and fruitie, thank you for sharing your opinion.

To all,

Has anyone ever attempted in using UOB VOX Card to buy Caring Cash Voucher online, and gain 5% cashback from it?

It is a good way to earn cashback from pharmacy purchases, provided that UOB recognizes it as an online transaction. Other than Hong Leong WISE card and Citibank Cash Back Card (mentioned by David83), there is no credit card that offers cashback for pharmacy purchases.

I have some questions for UOB VOX Card.

1) Are the 5% Cash Rebate for online transactions are counted based on posting date or transaction date? Is the calculation of 5% Cash Rebate based on a calendar month, or a statement month?

2) What are the Merchant Category Codes (MCC) of online transactions that are eligible for the 5% Cash Rebate?

3) How do I set RM 1 as the threshold for SMS transaction alert? By calling UOB Customer Service, or filling up an application form?

4) Although I do not have a saving account in UOB, is it possible for me to have access to UOB Personal Internet Banking website, whereby I can monitor my credit card applications?

5) Is it possible to obtain the credit card on the spot (say, after a few hours of waiting), if I go to UOB bank for credit card application?

6) On top of 5% Cash Rebate, do we gain additional 0.3% Cash Rebate for online transactions?

7) We do not gain SMART$ Cash Rebate for online transactions, right?

Thank you for the information. rclxms.gif

Thanks for your respective reply, fruitie, victorywp and Ronnie. rclxms.gif

Assuming that I submit my application for UOB VOX Card today, normally how long does it take for the application to be approved and the card to be sent to my home? Around 3 weeks or so?

i think based on statement month.

i got charged RM6+RM0.36 GST exactly on statement day. days before, there were no unbilled charges. it just "dropped" the bomb when statement gets generated  laugh.gif

next call, called and UOB CS waived it immediately, reflected in unbilled statement too.

How do you manage to waive the monthly fee of RM 6.36? Using the classical reason that you are going to cancel the VOX card? tongue.gif

Suppose that 5% cash rebate is not given for certain online transactions. Is it possible to call UOB CS to reinstate 5% cash rebate, similar to Maybank CS?

For UOB VOX Card, are we free to choose any date as the statement date?

just in case anyone of you wanted to change the Bill Dates for Vox:

available dates are: 3 13 14 15 16 17 21 23 24 25 26

as usual, payment due date = bill date (above) + 20-days.

Good for those who to plan cc repayment vs salary biggrin.gif

Thank you for your reply, cybpsych.

So, there is no available statement date on around 7th of each month. Sigh. I am hoping to have payment due date around the end of each month.

QUOTE(cybpsych @ Mar 9 2016, 08:21 AM)
yep, did the internet banking when collecting the card at branch. estatement is default, no more hardcopy.

For you all who has UOB VOX Card, do most of you all prefer to pay the credit card bill via IBG from other bank, and thus choose not to have a saving account in UOB?

I am still deciding whether to open a basic saving account in UOB or not.

Sigh, my application for UOB VOX Card was rejected. bangwall.gif

What should I do (such as attach more supporting documents), for UOB to reconsider my application? My CCRIS is clean, and I am not taking any loan now.

Thank you for your advice. smile.gif

fruitie sis,
I will definitely do that. So, I am trying to find any more reasons I can use to convince them.

Similar as most of you all, I always make full payment of my credit cards, just before payment due date.

Previously, I do not have any credit card with UOB, nor any banking account with UOB. Still, I do not think that that is a factor. hmm.gif

Sometimes, that could be the problem. You have too much outstanding balance. Can try to reduce your outstanding balance before applying.

Some banks look at different aspects, like how many credit cards, credit limit, good paymaster, income, other loans, BT and even total outstanding balance, ie balance that have not been cleared yet. For example, if his CCRIS is clean and no PTPTN loan, it could be due to high outstanding balance from other credit cards. Who knows maybe reducing them could helpĀ  wink.gif
*
Thank you for presenting your alternative viewpoint. smile.gif

After making full payment just before the payment due date, one of my credit card currently has an outstanding balance of about RM 1000. For my remaining 3 credit cards, the outstanding balance of each card is just about RM 200. So, the total outstanding balance is less than RM 2000. This figure is not a large sum. hmm.gif I will usually clear these outstanding balance, at the payment due date at the end of this month.

Moreover, I have never performed any balance transfer. Nevertheless, I appreciate your insight on this matter. rclxms.gif

The best bet is that I will insist on lower credit limit for UOB VOX card, and also attach my CCRIS report and my fixed deposit certificates in other bank. Hopefully, I can get UOB VOX card soon. smile.gif
