I know when they launched many months back, they gave free trial.

But yesterday when I visited their website using PC, I could watch the movies and TV shows without having opened any account previously.

What's happening. Is the free trial still on after so many mths ?

Or are they panicking that Netflix is here, and want to give free trial again to attract more people ??

So, what's going on? Anyone can enlighten me ? blush.gif

That I don't know but current iflix promo is 1 year free with unifi.

ur data not finish fast watch iflix? If I'm using my maxis data it will suck it dry.
*
Ha ha , my Hotspot data unlimited, and best part is it cost me only RM30/- a mth. Only thing it's speed only average 3Mbps so can only watch SD quality (but sometimes look better than SD quality), but both Iflix and Nflix very smooth, not a single hiccup.

But I still curious any else can watch Iflix free currently? Or am I the only one?

I read yesterday actor Will Smith came to MidValley KL and was seen with some some Iflix executives. Maybe he is promoting Iflix.

iFlix signed a deal with TM to provide free service to anyone using UniFi for 1 year. Provided you're using TM's DNS, you'll be able to access the service without registering for an account.

I have already said I don't have any Unifi account. I repeat, I am only using a wireless Hotspot service at my flat and have no fixed internet account with any service provider.

Don't worry, I think I have figured it out.

1 or 2 weeks back, when I tried first tried their website, the page took so long to respond, that it looked like already 'hang'. So I closed it and tried again a few times, but same result.

After trying again for few days later, again same thing, until recently a msg poped up apologising for their failure. After that the page suddenly worked.

I figured the first time I tried, I must have clicked the Free Trial , and after so long I must have forgotten about it. So probably now I am just getting the 1 month free trial , that's all biggrin.gif

just to add question on this iflix - for one unifi account, how many devices can use the iflix for free? eg, mobile, 2 ipad...can all 3 devices watch for free 1 year?
*
Normal iflix can register 5 devices, but can only use 2 at a time I believe.

The 1st 5 devices (that are used to access iflix from Unifi), be it a phone, laptop, desktop or tablet will be able to access iflix for free over the next 12-months using any Internet service provider (ISP). Having 5 devices work on any ISP after the initial activation is pretty generous and I believe the list can't be reset. If you want additional devices, you need to subscribe separately on that device to iflix.
*
But I thought I read the FAQ before, if you want to change devices , you can. Just need to remove one from the list and replace with a new one.

I don't know whether to share this for those on 1 mth trial versions , but I'll take the risk of Iflix pluggng the loophole.

Just before your 1 mth Trial ends, clear the Browser cache (Windows, don't know about Android), and start a Trial again. Then give another email address and start another free 1 mth trial.

I will continue doing this every mth until they end their 1 mth free trial campaign biggrin.gif

Mine is not TM Unifi or Streamyx. I am on wireless hotspot, remember smile.gif . As stated, I am sharing this only with those on 1 mth free trial (that excludes TM Users) smile.gif

This is normal.. Possibly cuz their trial system is based on email registration & stored cookies... The primary reason why Netflix requires a charge card or PayPal account linked to one's trial account.. Free emails can be gotten in seconds, PayPal & bank card verifications are much more of a hassle. Eventually, one will run out of charge cards.. Same can't be said for new emails.

Edit: Disclaimer notice... Such techniques are frowned upon..  shakehead.gif

Nothing to frown upon. I am grinning from ear to ear biggrin.gif

They didn't say anything about not allowed to use different emails for free trial. Until they plug their loophole, it's their problem, not mine.

If people can use Kodi to watch Live Events, Movies, TV shows for free that are protected by copyright, what I am doing is nothing compared biggrin.gif

Hey, no argument here.. It's a disclaimer incase some folks have funny ideas.. A man's got to do what a man's got to do  whistling.gif. However, just cuz you refuse to see it as your problem does not make it theirs.. As such practices, at the very minimum, are ethically & morally wrong. We can't deny that. Iflix, Netflix, big media trusts us to be fair (well...  tongue.gif). Summarily, one does not commit a smaller crime, then when caught & tried, points at others who committed bigger crimes and got away with it.. The hammer's going to fall regardless.  smile.gif

If the Star Newspaper prints a free cupon cut-out to redeem a free Burger at McDonalds, and doesn't say one person is entitled to one Burger only, then it's nothing wrong for me to use 10 different cupons to claim 10 Burgers.

There's nothing immoral here smile.gif .

If want to talk about morally wrong, then like you and me viewing copyrighted stuff for free using 'ahem' Kodi add-ons biggrin.gif

Bought back memories of yesteryears. How time has flown,

yep, the videos are poor, worse than my DVD's! biggrin.gif

i checked netflix as well - all 9 seasons in HD, DD5.1.

that's the diff between the two.

Well and good on your 30mbps Unifi. But on my slow connection , generally SD from my Iflix still looks better than Netflix SD.

Just wish that iflix got a subtitle without the black  bar behind it.
Its annoying for me

On my Samsung TV Iflix App , the subtitle text background is Opaque, almost transparent.

This sucks.

It shoud be black n white, nice contrast.

Do u know if it is yr tv model problem or something else?
*
Everybody prefers this way, except you smile.gif . It is self adjusting, when the background scene is white, the subtitle background will be just dark enough to still see the text clearly but without the black bar being too black and distracting.

but it seem that the background is not an iflix problem then

On my PC, it's black and white, quite distracting.

Unlike Iflix, Netflix got it's own option to customise subtitles Appearance.

Yup. Agree no background is the best.

Only thick fonts with shadows like Netflix's, will work without accompanying black background.

Iflix uses the poor man's method, plain white text against black background.
