I understand the best time to shoot Milky Way is between 4:30 a.m. to 5:30 a.m., true?

The time to shoot is depend on earth rotation and position towards the galaxy/Milkyway. Sometimes Milkyway appear as early as 8pm, or as late as 5am. (First time need to call PM early and AM late... )

But a general understanding is at 12am midnight, Milkyway should be directly above u as the sun is directly opposite direction of the earth.

The right question is which month of the year (position of the planet earth) we get the see the best part of the Milkyway.

best time to shoot milky way is without light impact from moon , no clouds , clear sky

for april, i think u can see milky from 3am onward

As suggested use stellarium to check. PC Mac version free. Android iOS need pay.

Also download an app called moon phase to know the moon cycle.

Moon's reflection is very bad. It can turn night photo to day like effect.

No WhatsApp group?

maybe i should organize one trip for miri(sarawak, bintulu welcome too) too XD

9th April - trip to tusan, meet at McD petronas krokop, take off time 930pm. finishing time reaching back miri might be 2 or 3am

pack more water. keep hydrated.
bring torchlight, but avoid using when people are shooting
bring hand's free junkfood, you dont wan to touch your camera with your finger full of cheetos

actually u can find your own angle , make sure u have phone with apps installed to locate milky way
