The time to shoot is depend on earth rotation and position towards the galaxy/Milkyway. Sometimes Milkyway appear as early as 8pm, or as late as 5am. (First time need to call PM early and AM late... )

But a general understanding is at 12am midnight, Milkyway should be directly above u as the sun is directly opposite direction of the earth.

The right question is which month of the year (position of the planet earth) we get the see the best part of the Milkyway.

Is the a guide where we know when is the best time to see Milkyway at each month?

First time shooting and was standing at a cliff where there was no flat surface. I was trying my best to balance myself and also figuring out the settings. First time for nooby like me to shoot Milkyway. In fact, it was spontaneous decision with 2 PRCs the night b4. tongue.gif

I'm going Penang for holidays in October, does anyone knows where is the best location to shoot Milky Way at Sungai Burong, Balik Pulau, Penang?

Or, any other good locations in Penang Island?

here is my recent milkyway shot at Kuala Kubu Bharu

this is a good place for milky way in selangor,  the shooting location is spacious and easy to park your car.
within 100km from KL
GPS : 3°34'47.3"N 101°43'43.3"E
