bootcamp is like creating partition to install other platform. It also providing mac drivers for winxp. Then of cos, when in xp, you using software which design for winxp only. It's similar like hackintosh (mac osx in x86 machine). Hackintosh is unstable/slow due to the driver problem and so on.your mac is what version? 10.4? intel-base?
