Even tho I'm a Vista user and don't use MAC, IMO, I think it's better to wait before installing Vista on a mac, even if ur using a compatible bootcamp. The initial RTM release is still buggy even on a standard IBM PC. You might have trouble getting some hardware working IMO.
But.... if you want to have directx10 as quickly as you can that's another story

so, if i use parallels desktop supports vista, does it run smoothly?

another question, is it once you have installed windows (XP or Vista) in your Mac, does it mean that you can do anything like you are not using a Mac? For eg, play games, photoshop, download those freeware that ONLY support XP on your Mac?

got what I mean? sad.gif

Depends on what kinda games you're talking bout here.. Parallels has yet to support 3D acceleration but they're working on it.

Just want to point out something. Everyone using Vista right now is running software emulated DirectX 10, not hardware accelerated. As far as i know, only Nvidia 8800 is capable of native DirectX 10 now. If you want Vista for DirectX 10, wait a few months. By then, u should get a Mac since Leopard is already released, probably with new iMac.

offtopic: The next gen iMac will levitate on my table and feature touchscreen, i'm sure of it. laugh.gif

I think vista on bootcamp is ok for now..
But there are still a few hardware cannot be used in Vista cause of the driver problem..
Looking forward to My macbook pro Running vista with full functions!

Noel,
your mac is what version? 10.4? intel-base?

mine seriously dont have T_T
anyway, i have solved the .flv problem, by downloading other software (flv-player).. ^^

Well, back to Vista problem.

another question i want to ask about Mac (intel-base), let's say you install XP in Mac, then can install most of the software that based on Windows?

uchan,

Yeah, on an Intel Mac machine running 10.4.8 Harimau

Using Bootcamp for Win Xp.. so far no problem with installing softwares. So i guess it's safe to say that it will support all windows based softwares.

bootcamp is like creating partition to install other platform. It also providing mac drivers for winxp. Then of cos, when in xp, you using software which design for winxp only. It's similar like hackintosh (mac osx in x86 machine). Hackintosh is unstable/slow due to the driver problem and so on.
