Testing rear view mirror mount with the D201... The mount feels abit loose though... See if can mod a bit or not...

Attached Image Attached Image

With the rear view mirror mount, I can finally use 3 meter mini USB I bought to connect to the Aukey USB car charger to power my D201 as the original mount is blocking the mini USB port on the D201. So I can use less power sockets...

The mount to the dashcam is loose as the mount is a bit smaller size than then original... Can move by itself left and right... Now thinking of something else but no time to try....

wide angle is nice 170, but 2016 no wifi support is like a no-no for me. i still currently still using 2013 lukas 7700. thinking upgrading to blackvue / lukas / transcend latest model with wifi support. you'll need wifi to transfer video without SD Card ready at laptop, its much hassle.

To me is not much a hassle as I have MicroSD OTG card reader... Faster than using wifi to download... laugh.gif I like Blackvue DR650GW more but RRP RM1399 sweat.gif sweat.gif sweat.gif Transcend DrivePro520? Feels more for chauffeurs or taxis to use with the interior cam... LOL! DrivePro220 a few users in Honda City club members in FB, their DP220 battery died in less 6 months... Most have "upgraded" to iRoad V7 or V9... Heard those using V7 complaining night video is lousy and 720p only... Still waiting for those V9 users as it's using Sony Exmor sensor at 1080p...

I got this coming on the way http://www.gearbest.com/car-dvr/pp_293569.html Using Novatek chipset with Sony Exmor sensor and have wifi... Found a discount code for it too...

From rectangle become oval shape. doh.gif

My old EH63 changed battery 3time in 3years. Normally I'll change it once it goes bloated. Never take any risk, li-po batt is cheap. I buy dozen on it and charge to safe mode and store it at freezer with li-po storage case.

24/7 365day mounted. And mine is running with parkin g mode with 2hour shut down delay setting.

If not mistaken, if you have chinese and english in the language option then it's for China market... I think mine have russian and other European language option.

I got the old player v1.114 and it's crap. Email Dome for latest version and got it.

I keep forgetting to take my MicroSD card from the D201. Hopefully I'll remember tonight.

You can try asking direct to SZ Dome like uexpress for the price and shipping to Malaysia how much...

Tested few day with the GPS logging. Confirm if in between high-rise building open area it take sometime like 1-2min to lock, if full open area without high-rise it lock immediately.

YouTube usually will compress further the video... Did you try 1440p instead of 720p?

Let me know if you need the raw video files... About 400+mb for a 3 minute video...

There is no changelog for this but some have mentioned that the menus have faster response.

Also there is a newer firmware v2771 which also don't have a changelog...

Thanks I manage to install it but haven't have the chance to try it yet as the unit on and off keep flashing the message "Low-Speed-Card". Do you think it's due to the microSD card problem? Any microSD card would you recommend?

That's means you're using a slow micro SD card... I prefer using Samsung Evo or Evo+... Something Class6 and above.

Don't get Sandisk as they prone to die faster when used in dashcam...

What's write speed of Samsung? I'm using Sandisk Ultra Class 10 32G (max 48MB/s) . My sister is using it in her dashcam and it is ok. I was asked to use Lexar 633X class 10 (95MB/s) but I don't know where I can buy it.

Ok...I'll go get an Evo+ Usually how much does it cost for 32GB or 64GB?
Anyway, the unit did manage to capture some file and the viewer you sent is working. Thanks.

Sorry for the late reply. Red led if not mistaken is when the battery if fully charged.

Have you flashed v2771 (this for dab205 and d201 can use) or v2534? If want higher bitrate, someone have made custom firmware with high bitrate. High bitrates means more video quality. You can give it a try and see.

Flashed v2534_v4 bitrate version. I don't see image quality differences between the FWs but big increased in bitrate. Anyway, I had a SanDisk Ultra (yes Ultra) in the unit and to my surprise it was recording fine without Low-Speed-Card message even with the higher bitrate.

Higher bitrate does have better video quality... Experienced it before with other dashcams before and after new firmware updates which fixes the video quality and ups the bitrates.

Yeah it should be but for Dome D201 it doesn't seems like there is improvement at least naked eyes don't see the improvement.
Side topic here
I also happen to have a Blaupunkt BP3.0 dashcam and the video/image quality is not good. Do you happen to know how can I improve the quality or where can I obtain latest FW to improve it?

Blaupunkt website is worse than Shenzhen Dome website. They don't have contact at all and don't even have page about the dashcam too. They have contact for other products but not dashcam. I contacted them they said they are not from Blaupunkt but an out source for Blaupunkt and they have no idea how to contact Blaupunkt regarding dashcam. I even wrote to Blaupunkt's CEO but still no respond after more than a month.
