Last night was a tad slow for an hour or two. Tonight it's fine...watching youtube @ 720p now, no probs.

Not sure if affected but Skype sucked ass today. Video calls. Not to say it was great before but worse today. There were news on www.lowyat.net. But related to TM. Probably same shizz.

And guys if you could help, a friend of mine been using nichrome on LJ4A. Its Kamry Tech chip. I think its the TFT Color 60w. Another friend says its a TC chip but i couldnt find any manuals that says it is so. If it is, how in the world to use it. Im asking because i think its dangerous to use nickel/nichrome without TC. Thanks in advance.

Nichrome is not for TC. Use it in power mode.

It's the first wire I used on regular resistance before kanthal came along, and that was way before the current TC phase too.

Hmmm doesnt nichrome contain like 80% nickel?
And if nickel fired above certain temperature the fume can be poisonous? Please correct me if im wrong.

From what ive read Kanthal and SS seems to be the safest?

ANY metal fired at above a "certain temperature" will give off fumes which are poisonous.
The big question you should be asking is: how stable is the metal used to make a coil throughout the range of temperatures that your mod can reach.

Nichrome 80 is 80% nickel...and you disregarded the remaining 20% (chromium) which effectively turns it into an alloy, and that alloy is a resistance wire. Pure nickel is a non-resistance wire.

Having said that, I'd like to know exactly what you've been reading which says that kanthal and SS are the safest. Was it a comparative study between Ni80, kanthal and SS?

Check for shorts after you close the cap. If it is too high, it may be touching the top or side of the cap.

Yea sure "certain temperature", i get it. Just poor choice of words / sentence structuring for me. But im sure you got what i was trying to say. Not trying to submit a homework here. But point taken anyway.

I did read about the 80 20 and the affect doesnt really mean that it will be poisonous. But werent enough info and didnt dig deeper. So now i know.

Safest here are loosely used. Safest here is in the sense of more stable when fired at high temperature. Higher resistance before producing poisonous fumes. Compared to the others. No no comparative study done here. Just reading here and there. Newbie learning ropes for FUN here. Not trying to win anything nor writing a white paper regarding metal resistance.
