personally i think w10 is getting better after recent patches.

note that i do have some system optimizations applied based on mainly blackviper's guide (www.blackviper.com/service-configurations/black-vipers-windows-10-service-configurations/) and some other sources. it does help make the os to run in a more efficient manner in terms of system resources (eg. disabling unnecessary services running in the background).

Mostly. I disabled some that are the same as default because i don't need them too. It's better to check them out one by one.

one question, Intel® PROSet Monitoring Service disable or not? what's that?
*
intel proset is a toolset from intel to manage network related stuff. i think this monitoring service is only available for certain intel-based networking products (i'm using intel wlan but it's not in the services list)

if you want, you can test it yourself by disabling it and see if it has impacts to your system. you should be able to turn it back on when shits happen hehe (i do such tests all the times lol)

Hi all,

Recently I updated to the latest version of Windows 10, and I'm very frustrated with it. After the update, it takes longer to boot up Windows, clicking on the start button doesn't show the start menu instantly (need to wait for 1-2seconds) and I can't freaking search in the start menu! Anyone facing the same problem?

after doing a full data backup, i suggest you to do a system reset. better yet do a clean install. trouble shooting an upgraded w10 can be a pita.

Thanks for the suggestion. I reinstall Cortana by following the steps below:-

http://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows...0e763858?auth=1

Doesn't work right away after the powershell script. I think it needs to re-download the updates and reinstall it. Then only it works.

And it is working now! Start menu start normally and search is working again! biggrin.gif

just in case, you should do a full data backup to an external storage first.

after that, do a refresh, not reset. be careful and choose to keep your personal files in the process.

:/

next time you should move your save locations away from os partition. press win+i then choose system > storage to configure.

afaik there are some 'workarounds' (disabling by service is the most straight forward one; some others work on w10 pro edition only), but there is no official feature that can do this.
