I’m using meson series, 10w too, good enough for me but of course u need the supplier/experienced feedback on numbers needed for your living room.

Mine is rectangular shaped which include dining and kitchen. Total installed 8 nos.

Hi sifu, wanna get your advice
Im planning to get 12W for all areas except bedrooms (cool white)
10W for bedrooms (cool white + warm white)

My ceiling is about 9 ft, is the number of light too much, too little or just nice?
I'm not sure how many K is philips downlight though. Is 4500K recommended for the whole unit?

Attached File  downlight.pdf ( 72.74k ) Number of downloads: 241

my advice is don't get yourself soak into all this tech spec too much.

Also to make life simple, just make whole house same size and spec else you will find - eh...why here is bigger, brighter etc.

U should consider how many units to install on each area (living room, bedroom etc)

Just take note that LED light cover tent to be 'narrower' compare to fluorescent....so best to install more unit = more switch. IMHO.

Its better be brighter than dimmer (which u will regret) trust me...

Next is if you wanna know how many units to install..post up your floor plan + dimension on each space biggrin.gif

Thanks.

The more i read the more confused I am.

Cool white and daylight, which one is 5000-6500k? I saw different categorisation for different brands.

Can 4000K be used for kitchen and study room?

Too many downlight aka too bright.
Make sure downlight not directly above bed. Downlight can be very glaring.

Only 3 colour in market. Warm White (Yellow), Natural White (In between both) and Cool White (White)

Forget about the K as different manufacture have different colour defination. Generally Below 4K is Warm White and Above 5K is Cool White

Can google for more la

Looks ok to me. Just need to ensure you have switches for them. e.g 4 lights in a room should have at least 2 switch...each control 2 lights either cross or front/back. Remember , be in more light rather then less light but you just have to play with the switches (which personally am very particular in this, also how you want the switch arrangement to be) tell your electrician

If you are is very colour or dark, my view is 'centralise' the downlight in the center of the space (since you are not going to sit or lean toward wall area 90% of the time...

This is how i would do if i were you....

I did my own calculation room by room, wall by wall...lasttime biggrin.gif

May use eyeball/spotlight instead of warm white for your bedrooms.
Go for eyeball/spotlight all the way if you prefer cozy warm feeling, except for those areas where you really need brightness.

My house is 1300 sqft. Are you referring to the living room? I will put T5 in the middle (Plaster ceiling L box)
