Couple of people are selling on Lelong, but the ones I got from them have mostly
INACCURATE measurements! It may or may not matter to you...

Whoa! The second link shows Lab Beakers! These won't be off by more than 2 ml or so.

The ones that are off are the ones in the first link, and also those "Tiamo Shot Glasses" : one could be almost spot on, while another could be off by about 5-8 ml - not that much, really, but to someone anal like me, it's just not kosher!

I know because I went and bought 50 ml measuring cylinders, and also 50 ml beakers, did someone mention "anal"? haha

Last time I checked, was around 2.5K, from various sellers. Since you asked, I checked cuppa, and they don't have it anymore. Will keep looking, but any leads would be welcome!

Thanks for the link. The price sure is tempting, but I would have to be a gambling person to take that plunge: the thought of
shipping a defective machine back to EU is scary. And we don't know yet if the customs guys will decide, on that particular time, of that particular day, when the machine passes their station, if they will drop the axe on the 30 odd %... sweat.gif

ppl in SG have bought grinder from them no issue.
chances of a defective machine low, very low.
as for customs tax.. 30%?? where did u get the info?

GST/VAT plus import tax is like 12-15%. still cheaper than what u find locally.. of course when they unreasonable 30% is ouch!
http://tariff.customs.gov.my/

from here its just 10%.

Yeah, I'm not very comfortable buying big stuff from overseas. It's like a big weight on my mind!

Two days ago, I started to mix the 3-in-1 Nescafe with extra sachet of creamer. It is been tastier since then, but I worried about excess sugary intake. Is that a good idea (to mix 3-in-1 instant coffee with another 1 or 2 sachet of creamer)?
*
Creamers are an EXCELLENT source of trans-fatty acids....
and that stuff is many times worse than sugar. I'm sure you can figure it out

Speaking of Saeco Peomia (which is quite in high regard among some beginners' circles), I don't know where you can actually "try" (as in, brewing some shots), but you can actually "touch" (as in, hands on) at most Harvey Norman shops.

I hv intention to get descale maintenance once in few years at the beginning of owning this machine. After did some googling, someone mention that our country water is quite soft. Using filtered water the scaling process will be very slow. Worry too much. Then i change my mind & plan to let it be. Use until it broke down & got reason to upgrade to other fancy machine. Haha. My oscar is one year old this month xD

Anyone have old kittle or experience overhaul their espresso machine? Plz check & share is the scaling bad?
*
I have a Gaggia Carezza espresso machine. The timer automatically tells you to descale after a certain number of uses/or amount of time has elapsed.
The descaling solution came out absolutely Clean and Clear - no sign of scale anywhere. It served no purpose other than getting a lot more wear-and-tear (and lessening it's service life) to the brew pump!

Anyone had any idea where can i get those food safe petrol gel used for food machine ?
*
Many coffee forums recommend Dow Corning/Molykote 111 silicone grease. I suspect any NSF 61 food-grade certified silicone grease from 3M,
SuperLube, Orelube, etc would fit the bill. (Seems Petrol Gel is a trade named paraffin-based, food-grade white lubricant)

Do you know where to get them ? 3M website ?
You can get Loctite NSF H1 food grade silicone grease from RS malaysia, but it costs a bomb: RM60 for 85 grams! Or you can try Orelube from Boelube Malaysia, RM140 for 410 grams. Online purchase from Superlube also works, i think abt USD30 for 400 gms. These are all 2014 prices, that's when I hunted around for grease. Just make sure there are least amount of unnecessary additives, like PTFE, as possible.
Forgot to mention, cheaper alternative is to go to most dive shops, and look for silicone grease for lubricating O-rings and dive regulators.
