Hand grinders can indeed do espresso. I currently use a 1Z Z-Pro for everything other than espresso (although it can even do that) and an ACE48S for espresso.

I get mine with the help of a Taobao-guru friend of mine. Very banana myself.

how long it takes to grind manually for 16gm beans? hmm.gif
just curious

It seems very dependent on the burr design. On the 1Z Z-Pro even at fine settings it requires lower force eg. my China 12V cordless drill also can drive it. The ACE48S seems even lighter but could be just me. However, the Timemore Slim I used to have, and the LingLong R1 V2 when at fine settings is a major pain to crank. Luckily the aggressive design means the effort is short (less than a minute, mostly).

thanks for the info...
i think i will stick back to electric grinder sweat.gif
now hunting for decent one....not sure can get one for <1k laugh.gif

was about to try white vinegar but the manual states that use of acetic acid (white vinegar) and sulfamic acid (common descaling tablet) will void the warranty. I'm wondering if this is just to sell more of their decalking solution
*
hmm...if that's so...i think the only option for u is to use back delonghi descaler?

16A Smart Plug
Has anyone tried this smart plug to automatically switch on your espresso machine in the morning ?
I'm planning to get one for my machine as sometimes in the morning I'm just too lazy to wait for 30 minutes for the machine to warm up.
*
30 mins?
what machine is that? hmm.gif

Hi guys, my non-pressurized porta filter on Delonghi ec685 couldn't flow evenly. Is my tamping method wrong or this shyt machine couldn't pump at that bean coarse level?

This is my biggest regret of getting ec685 from Donlim 7001.

got any pic of it?
maybe post here

I boil water in a kettle and pour it into the brew chamber / portafilter.
The robot don't have any part that generates heat.
*
how's the result? good? seem fun..
you only need to compress single time to extract?

!! Lol, I'll stick to my Aeropress if this is true.
Anyway, I am going with the Gemilai la, I still believe pre ground is not that bad, compared with a lot of setup I see where the self owned grinder is of questionable quality also.
A not so fresh (maybe couple weeks old, but perfectly sealed until unpacking) but properly grinded by your roaster will be better than a fresh beans, but grinded with subpar grinders....

I have seen a lot of setup, where a subpar grinder is used... and I am almost certain that the pre-ground is gonna be better.

Which model are you planning to get?
Heard good review for Gemilai machine on their price vs performance ratio.

Looking forward to your feedback  thumbsup.gif

been using gemilai 3605 for almost over a year now since MCO 1.0...
i would say it really does a decent job for its price...
summore i bought with set...means it comes with cheapo grinder...it still works but you will have hard time adjusting the grind level...but once u get used to it...no problem for me either...
was thinking to upgrade a better grinder..lol

Hi... here's how it went.

The first round with the gemilai where i kinda had acceptable result at 20 - 20.5g is with the pre-ground on the left.
It was acceptable, but it's a bit coarser than i'd like.
After finishing the batch, i got a new one from mister coffee, as I previously bought their 'Fine' for my aeropress. In comparison, mr coffee's Fine is like Sol Roastery's Extra Fine, so my hunch will be Mr Coffee's extra fine will be perfect. for the expresso machine
user posted image[/url]

From the picture, (sorry the quality is not too good) but it's finer than what i had.

Here's the video of the shot I pulled.
https://drive.google.com/file/d/1SzV5CwXuLI...iew?usp=sharing

I've gotten pretty good results, at 18-19g

It's a workable routine, if you wanna safe some time, or if your in a condo, and kitchen space is a premium.

For those with a good grinder setup, I'm interested to know whata's your results from mister coffee's extra fine too. It'll be great if you can get a pack and try it out too.

The only downside i feel is, the coffee is like a couple weeks 'old' lar upon arrival (I got coffee thats probably grinded and packed on mid of april in 1st week of may), but crema's  still there.. and it tastes quite good la.

Thanks.

is tat gemilai 3200c? how's the machine?

Thanks for sharing. Just got the 0.4x75mm needles shipped from china and manage to get the needles slot into the 3D printed WDT tool.

The DIY WDT tool looks promising. Pretty excited to try it out tomorrow.

Anyone tried WPM ZD-17N grinder? I just bought CRM3605, and I watched a few videos on Youtube of people using it with CRM3605, so I guess it can do espresso. I was thinking of buying DF64, but the preorder wait is just too long, so thinking of getting this one instead.
*
i asked this question before..but no reply...
im eyeing for this also..seem like cheap and good...
how much is df64? is double the price rite?

DF64 is RM1.3k, while WPM is RM950 from bunamarket. The price is really close. If DF64 is available now I will take it no question, but the wait is just too long lol.
*
ok..i saw someone selling at 899 at facebook group..lol
1.3k from where are?
how long need to wait for preorder?
can share?
