QUOTE(Helldiver @ May 7 2019, 10:14 PM) Hey guys, has anyone heard or tried this Purefresh Electric Grinder? http://theroastthings.com/product/purefres...ectric-grinder/Been hand-grinding for pour-overs and I've been getting a bit inconsistent lately, coffee not too good. Thought I'd check out some electric burr grinders on a low budget Looks nice and reasonably priced.

QUOTE(dwRK @ Nov 29 2019, 10:59 AM) don't think the paper filter is so smart can recognize which oil is healthy and which is not anyways a lot of the aromatics are in the oils... Lol. Paper filter basically absorbs most of the oil/coffee crema (or what's left of it during pourover process). Use a steel mesh filter to retain most of the oil, but came with sediments. Taste wise... Hmm...debatable.

QUOTE(ammarsweil @ May 26 2020, 12:15 AM) Hey coffee lovers. So in my search for new grinder, I have shortlisted either 1xBaratza Encore RM760 or (1xeoleo 600n & 1zpresso jx combo ~RM850). Does this sound reasonable? Ohh I kind of need to buy machine grinder, cause will share with my dad. I don't want him to waste energy manual grinding. But I also don't want to compromised that much on grind consistency for my coffee (dad not much bother with this issue). I mostly brewed on kalita & aeropress. My dad use french press. I'm using Baratza Encore for filter coffee. It's pretty ok as long as you're not into espresso. Do take note though, the initial grind would have quite a bit of retention. Cleaning is also a bit of a pain. Never tried other machine grinder, so can't comment much. Otherwise I'm pretty happy with what I have right now.

QUOTE(ammarsweil @ May 26 2020, 02:49 PM) Thank you. After a lot of reading here & on reddit, I end up ordering the 600n & 1zpresso jx. They said in term of grind quality, jx are much better than encore, and the 600n is good enough for my dad(also when I'm super lazy or have cheap beans). Plus I ask PPPcoffee, they said Encore might be back in stock early June, but they can't promise it. There are quite a few post on reddit mentioning issue when it come to grinding light roast bean with the encore. can you confirm this? Most of the bean I bought is light roast. I dunno, I hope i make a correct decision lol What was the specific issue on grinding light roast? Static build up?

QUOTE(ammarsweil @ May 26 2020, 03:34 PM) It's not static build up. Plus i think static is a non issue for me. I just follow this genius: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T0Dh1W40ILYIf I'm not mistaken some were saying there were lot of fines when grinding light roast when compare to jx. But I can't remember where I read it. Now that I think of it, all grinder will have some fine when grinding light roast right? I dunno I think the fines is inevitable. If you're particular on this, there's coffee sifter to counter this problem. This post has been edited by Harddisk: May 26 2020, 04:18 PM

QUOTE(Sky.Live @ Jun 5 2020, 09:20 AM) cant find much review on timemore grinder, I am thinking to get either 1zpresso K-plus (about 700-800 from taobao) or get a timemore cheaper grinder but with decent quality and upgrade later or a comandante c40 mk3 Anyone has any idea on it? You can checkout Handground. It was born from a Kickstarter project. This post has been edited by Harddisk: Jun 9 2020, 01:13 AM

QUOTE(faiz293 @ Jun 10 2020, 07:09 AM) **I dont really like the paper filter coz it makes the coffee taste mild without the oil. Bought steel filter, but the pressure is too low. If got budget later i plan to buy fellow prismo Is that Cores filter?

QUOTE(ken_zie @ Aug 20 2020, 09:38 AM) I have always been using Cores Single Cup Gold Filter with ready blended coffee and I have a french press too. Recently, I gave the Cores filter to my dad to try out and I am looking for a new filter. Is there any other good recommendation for a filter which do not require the use of paper filter? I have also been planning to get a good hand grinder and is looking into 1zpresso K pro. The reason I choose K pro is because I think I might want to get an espresso machine in the future? Or should I get another model of hand grinder at the moment? You should've kept your Cores, or buy another one. I have a Hario one, it went into cold storage after a couple of uses.

QUOTE(power911 @ Apr 3 2021, 01:05 AM) I'm using Baratza Encore, reason being it was cheaper comparatively. No idea where you were searching, I bought mine from PPP Coffee, cost about the same as the link below. Which seems official and legit btw. It even comes in white now! https://www.lazada.com.my/products/baratza-...cEiksU&search=1There's a bit of retention and static build up (nothing can't be fix with a droplet of water, if you're willing). Cleaning could be an ass on this machine, but it's cheap. lol. It's well adequate enough for V60. Though espresso drinker might say otherwise.

QUOTE(alvinfks78 @ Apr 6 2021, 09:37 AM) I second that. Tahan lasak also. Using Encore apart from replacing the Burr Holder now and then(PPP sells them about Rm20 each) going into 6 years of usage for V60. Mine is about 2 years in. So far so good. Though at time I wished it's quieter.

QUOTE(alvinfks78 @ May 27 2021, 09:18 AM) really there is a difference. V60 box vs 100s  I thought the there is only old filter & new filter (with tab) which flows slower. https://www.reddit.com/r/Coffee/comments/8c...filters_vs_old/Tabbed one is thinner material (cost cutting perhaps). Otherwise I don't feel any difference.
