For locked bootloaders, you have to make sure that your redmi 3 is boot to "download" mode instead of "fastboot" mode. After this, the rest of the steps will be same as fastboot flash.

I think he is just showing time sequence, not spec.
Redmi 3S also comes with 2Gb version and 3Gb Pro version. Both versions have fingerprint sensor.

Too expensive. Better get from taobao xiaomi shop, or wait for Lazada. RM550 should be the reasonable price.

Important note:
- use windows 7 (or 8 or 10) 64bit
- before flashing, make sure your redmi3 is set to "download" mode and NOT "fastboot" mode
- Latest fastboot rom for redmi 3 is here http://en.miui.com/a-234.html

If later you decided to go to eu rom, you have to go thru following (quite technical):
- apply for unlock bootloader
- Once you receive approval sms, flash to china dev. rom (if you are on china stable rom)
- unlock bootloader according to given instruction
- go to https://xiaomi.eu/community/ and look for redmi 3 rom
- flash twrp recovery
- flash eu rom

So far fast and accurate using eu rom. It is mentioned that eu rom has optimised gps setting for eu.
If you are using official china rom, it may have issue with gps.

Taiwan user tested, Redmi 3S support QC3.0

3S confirmed with QC3.0 available (flexible voltage charge from 3.6V to 20V), but buy your own QC3.0 compatible charger.


SD616 (Redmi 3 Pro) support qc 2.0, but not make available with redmi 3, same as redmi note 3.

Using Antutu index as reference, 3S (SD 430) performance better. 3S comes with Android 6, maybe this assist further

When I 1st installed china rom & playstore, I can't install & download apps from it.
The problem solved when I enabled "Allow mock locations" in Developer options.

which rom file did you download?
Just take note that fastboot (or download mode) rom is different from normal rom update zip file (it is packed as .tgz file).

If you are already on stable china rom, you can just use updater app in your redmi 3 to update to a china dev. rom using the full rom zip file.

Not true. Redmi 3 / Redmi 3 Pro share the same rom. I used it for my redmi 3 pro.
Of course, don't use the old redmi 3 rom file (Mar 2016 or earlier) prior to the release of pro version.
