Apparently, if u need Band 5 for telco "webe", get the TD-2016031 which was released last July. Confirm with the seller whether they sell version TD-2016030 or TD-2016031. I think current stock from all importers/sellers are still TD-2016030.

However, if you're brave enough, you can manually unlock Band 5 (Source)

Errr.... Not for my R3S... Even after leave it overnight (>7 hours), the FP works as usual. Just tap & it unlocks to desktop right away...my R3S is in EU ROM btw...

The cheapest 2GB/16GB combo.

need some advise. should i just grab a 3s now or wait for mi malaysia to launch first?
been using nokia 3100 for month and a half now since my s3 died.
tempting to get 3s but AP set warranty coverage scared me. plus i live in ipoh so, mi service centre is close by. but, waiting it to launch is sure is sloowwwwwwwwwww

If I owned it, I'll use it mainly for :
1) more than 5 hours navi everyday.
2) YouTubing & streaming via NAS while laying on my back. Easier to hold & lighter too... Mi Max is heavy to hold single-handedly.

However, this 3S is for my kid's birthday present...

As for MiFi purpose, can't comment much as I don't have my SIMs in it. But I would certainly use it for MiFi because you can also use it for navi, online shopping, pix & vidx, dashboard cam in car, control TV channels at mamak stalls, etc. It's the modern Swiss knife tool... One device for multipurpose usages...

Since you have the budget, go for it... Mi Max is not pocketable. You can't  lift ur legs to ride ur bike... Put it in ur beg instead. Else, you get cargo-pants that has zip side pockets... Much more comfortable and secure...
