I wanted to buy this phone for my dad.  He wanted bigger size phone less than rm1000, i heard the setting all in chinese? Is it correct? Need to flash only can use english? If too much hasle maybe i should buy lenovo since i'm not living with my parent, scare if any problem i need to fly back here just to settle the prob heheh.

English language is available on china rom, but it might come with ads and stuff
Which is most people prefer global rom with gapps already installed

In the meantime, also request to unlock your bootloader so you can just use twrp to flash ROM
Took less than a week to get mine approved last time

for redmi 3 AP.

best rom is EU? how difficult is it to flash the rom? as in download, put in sdcard and update tru updater?

* old fag in tech stuff now
*
You mean ROMs from xiaomi.EU?
For that one, I'd recommend to unlock your bootloader first
Then install twrp to flash eu roms

You need to login to the same mi account that was approved for bootloader unlocking. That should be enough

Those vendor rom can easily be flashed to official rom using miflash, just helped my friend to do it

It is recommended to flash chinese developer rom so you won't have any problem unlocking your device later

actually, what does Global Rom means actually?

What's the difference compared to Eu Rom or Local rom?

Is global rom clean/no bloatware?
does it support auto/ota updates? or need to manually update everytime?
*
Global rom = local rom
Eu rom = bloatware removed/some enhancements by dev

Question here.

im planning on buying redmi 3 pro and i never own a xiaomi phone before. i see a lot of u guys changing roms and whatnot. is it a compulsory for new users or can just use it as it is?

the one im buying maybe on miui global 7.2
*
If it's confirmed global, then no need to flash other roms
Major concern is when the phones comes with vendor rom filled with ads/unwanted apps
Also, I'd recommend for you to request for bootloader unlock since it might take 1-2 weeks to approve if you plan to flash custom roms

Global rom = local rom?  hmm.gif

Means it's clean/non-china rom with proper playstore/google apps installed
but vendor could have install unwanted ads/apps?

how will it update?

i'm very interested to buy
http://www.directd.com.my/redmi-3-pro
anyone else in this forum had experience buying from DirectD?

What's important is that it's not tempered by vendor
That's pretty much it really

It will still update as normal and get ota
