Btw, this is kinda true, for the first part. Lol. But that doesn't necessarily mean he wants to attract the girl's attention. Different guys give different reactions when they like a girl. Usually he'll try to find stuff in common with the girl, like she likes jap dramas, then he'll say "oh yea, i like them too... blablabla" then he will ask her to pinjam him and stuff like that. There are a million ways for a guy to come up with an excuse to chat with a girl or get closer to her
