Coz we are different league from you. Maybe you have higher cash flow.
My target is hoping to keep it for 2 more years before slowly upgrade my car.
No, no, I have much to learn. It's not a question about cash flow, but of prudence. I admit, I have been quite spendthrift when it comes to purchasing cars. I've always tried to abide by a strict rule about the costs of car purchases which I set for myself many years ago: I will only buy a car that costs 10% or less of my annual income. Yes, I've been criticized by some forum members in different threads to say that it's unrealistic, but as you can see, with advancing age and improving income, even that rule is starting to sound inadequate.
So, I have to learn how to exert some discipline with regards to keeping my cars for longer. When I sold off my F02 730Li to buy the G12 740Li, the F02 was barely 4 years old, and had only about 25,000km on the clock. A bit sakit hati to let it go, but honestly, I don't think I can realistically keep 5 cars in my house. In fact, the 3 cars I have at the moment (with the W222 due to arrive after CNY) is already starting to look excessive, considering that my wife hardly drives, and I'm the only one that keeps the cars running. Sigh. I think when the S400L comes in, I will sell off the X5 and the 640i and just stick with the 2 limos, and learn how to be contented.
Reading about some of your experiences has reminded me that prudence is a virtue, and I hope to be able to start a new thread some years later, to showcase our long-serving existing rides, kept in good condition!
