Netflix speedtest shows 0.491mbps
Movie quality drops to max..
*
something v wrong with the speed.

if u dun get such poor speed with other devices, it may be yr TV problem.
do u get good or poor speed with TV youtube, other apps?

new smart TV's typically come with non-gigiabit 100mbps ethernet but can be faster with AC wifi if it has it.
that page in netflix, my TV shows 185mbps with wifi using google DNS - all is good.

1st 2months i subscribed i always monitor the speed in netflix app consistently get 90mbps but not 100mbps. (Rj45 connection)
As u said i did tested before via unifi 5G it goes to 103mbps.
I was in doubt why cable cannot reach 100mbps then i changed cable still same.
So like you said now i knew its maybe tv port nongigabit.

The recent intermittent speed in netflix just observed lately. Since end of june.
Playing youtube seems ok.
Streaming movies from tv web browser, it plays but there is buffering here and there compared last time smooth loading.

I do test in various speedtest websites.

Ookla Speedtest.
TM speedtest - this always above 70%
SpeedOf.Me.
TestMy.net. - this seems reliable
Fast.com

What else i can do ?
*
try:

1. use wifi 5ghz, not rj45.

2. use static IP, google DNS.

3. try with a diff router... in many cases, the culprit is the cheap stock router.
poor routers tend to hv unstable connection, less than optimal speed and other strange problems.

there is a tv series available on netflix... Diriliş: Ertuğrul
QUOTE
Diriliş: Ertuğrul (English: "Resurrection: Ertugrul") is a Turkish historical fiction and adventure television series created by Mehmet Bozdağ, starring Engin Altan Düzyatan in the namesake leading role. It is filmed in Riva, a village in Beykoz, Turkey, and premiered on TRT 1 in Turkey on December 10, 2014. The show is based on the history of the Muslim Oghuz Turks and takes place in the 13th century. It centers around the life of Ertuğrul, the father of Osman I, who was the founder of the Ottoman Empire.

started in 2014... season 5 just completed... but only first 4 seasons in netflix... i hope season 5 will come soon.

a very long drawn historical fiction drama-thriller.

every season is >70 epis long, 42 mins per epi.

i'm done with season 1, 2... boy, it was long... but interesting enough.. will continue.

factual history has little record of the main character Ertugrul... but it is great to watch how he was depicted in the 13th century.

a time when the turkmen tribes of anatolia (current day turkey) were under siege from the byzantine empire in the west and the mongols in the north.

the perils of betrayal, spies, infighting vs the strengths of loyalty, heroism, spiritual strength.

of course, we know the ottoman empire eventually emerged to change the landscape of the east-west wars over territory and jerusalem for the next few hundred years.

then, WWI, WWII... and what we see today in modern turkey.

an interesting way to catch up with history if u like.... i'm not a historian but i can follow much of what is being shown and illustrated in this series.

apparently it has been the most followed tv series on central asia and the middle east.

a recommendation to anyone interested in turkish-central asian history. 3.5/5.

from netflix... Dirilis Ertugrul...

s1 76 epis
s2 103
s3 91
s4 90

some sources list the seasons as <30 epis each.... maybe these are 90-100 min ones.

netflix hasn't got the deal to air season 5 yet but.

i take my time to watch them, no rush.

i find it better than many other crap shows! biggrin.gif

Finally the technician arrived to check my unifi quality. They fixed tester at my end and at dp box. According to them my signal loss very low. That means fiber cabling perfectly done.
Surprisingly at noon i did speedtest infront of them about 5 times all result hit 90Mbps.
According to them even though its broadband we still sharing with rest subscribers, if users get increased the bandwidth utilization become higher and we see drops.

Basically the broadband is not dedicated line. If TM allocate 2Gbps for the exchange it will be shared to rest of the users.

So no solution unless more complains on low speed due to insufficeint of bandwidth, TM need to increase.

Im watching "Moneyheist" which i got addicted now. What i noticed is the series stated as 4k ultra HD. But when play it the resolution is always 3.83mbps/1080.
I quickly checked other 4k content all stops at 15+mbps.
I wonder why moneyheist just stops at 1080 when the content stated as 4k.
I reported to netflix not to put wrong info..
Can you guys play that series and check if seeing same as me.
It plays in 1080 or 2160..
*
1080p should be more like 6-7 mbps.

yr connection does seem weak since u dun get certain shows in 4k (assuming u pay for 4k pack).

really, u need to test connection speed with other devices - box, pc - with ethernet , wifi... to be sure it is not just TV netflix issue.

for 100mbps nominal, most routers can give full 100 with ethernet and >50mbps wifi.

I tested the connection in my laptop and handphone via wifi 5g
Seems ok. Playing netflix in PC or handphone doesnt now the content playing in what video rate. I believe must be 1080p.
Do speedtest from Pc or hp seems fine as well. Streaming no buffering.

Just in TV NETFLIX APP,  we can see video rate right ?
Other 4k content can play in 2160 in 15.xx Mbps rate. But this moneyheist just playing in 1080p make me confuse. Why its not happening to other 4k content ?

Cracking head
*
looks like comes to netflix, yr connection speed weakens - that is seen with 1080p speed u get and not able to get 4k for some shows.

given what u said so far, i suggest u check further on the netflix device, i.e. yr TV.

possible u need new firmware to get rid of certain bugs... do check with users of same TV, the manufacturer website or helpline.

some TV's, w/o firmware updated, Netflix won't even run!

Binge-watching thieves give all-new meaning to ‘Netflix and chill’

A check by the Malaysian Cyber Consumer Association (MCCA), a body set up last year to advocate the rights of internet users in the country, has found that scores of Netflix accounts could have been exposed to hacking, where someone is able to log in to an existing profile and watch shows for about a quarter of the monthly fee.

These illegal users may have bought the usernames and passwords of genuine Netflix accounts for a fraction of the cost – RM10 according to syndicates operating through social media, said MCCA.

cheapest netflix pack locally is rm17 per month, right?
https://www.soyacincau.com/2018/11/14/netfl...-plan-malaysia/

in india... it's rm12 per month.

and that's not good enough!!

this ALT in India charges rm18 PER YEAR!

QUOTE
Part of Alt's popularity stems from pricing, in a market that is extremely sensitive to it. A 12-month Alt package costs 300 rupees (RM18), compared to Hotstar and Amazon's US$14 (RM59). Netflix's cheapest plan is US$2.88 (RM12) per month. "If you have to address mass India, you have to be as near free as possible," Pantvaidya said.

Turkey's popular, history-themed TV series "Diriliş Ertuğrul" ("Resurrection Ertuğrul"), which has been exported to 60 countries, bid farewell to the screens with its 50th episode last night. Since its premiere on the state-run Turkish TV channel TRT 1 in 2014, "Diriliş Ertuğrul" has captured the attention of television audiences across Turkey and the region. One of the more successful Turkish TV exports in recent years, the show is based on the history of the Oghuz Turks in the 13th century. Highest netflix speed is around 15mbps rite? With this speed, we'll only get lossy dolby Atmos rite?
*
Netflix uhd 4k requires 25mbps. Actual is like 18-20.

Audio...
Lossy = dolby, dolby digital plus, dts.
Lossless = dolby true hd, dtshdma, dolby atmos, dtsx.

Netlfix Dolby atmos only found with a few devices... appletv, certain smart tvs.
Others get only lossy dolby digital.

time flies... actually more like 2 months for 3 seasons.

skip the start/end credits, it is <40 min per episode... and i skip certain parts sometimes.

it is not the best show i've watched but is certainly the longest.

great time to binge on it as there is a dearth of good shows at this time.

I'm using netflix with Sony oled android TV and able to get Atmos from my Samsung Q90R soundbar. Timedotcom 1gbps.

When watching uhd or vision with Atmos movie or drama... It's show only 15mbps on the info.
*
the actual bit rate is about right, which varies a bit from movie to movie.
https://www.howtogeek.com/338983/how-much-d...es-netflix-use/

seriously, if u find the video and/or audio somewhat lacking, that can only be normal.

becos 15-16mbps bit rate of a compressed (and what else) video from netflix is nowhere near a full bluray's 80-90mbps.

Yes brother i just started 2nd episode of strangers things.
It is looks like kids movie but not suitable for them haha... If censored version could be very appropriate for them on Language and adult scenes. I watched 2 episodes seems interesting.

So now in my bucket

1. The protector
2. Ethrugul
3  Designated Survivor
4. Strangers Things
*
Netflix, i strongly recommend NARCOS.

Main has 3 seasons; season 4 is kind of a reboot, titled Narcos Mexico.

One more question. I can't find game of throne from my netflix UHD account although I'm using expressVPN set to US. Any other setup I missed?
*
Game of thrones is HBO property.... u won't find on Netflix.

The easiest way to watch GOT is with astro or their apps - astrogo or hbo go - valid only with movies pack.

assuming u have id/pw for the apps and the right devices.

yr Sony TV is ATV... this one is tricky... i cannot be sure if it will work smoothly with the current app version... u gotta try them.

another question, the latest Sharp andriod TV 4TC60AL1X able to support Netflix 4k HDR with dolby digital plus and Dolby atmos? thanks again
*
that tv - netflix 4k, yes.
HDR, i cannot confirm, best u ask actual users:
https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/4778611/+80

that tv - only DD... so, no DD+, DTS or Atmos.
if u want a TV with Atmos capability, u will need to go for other TVs, likely 2-3 times the price.
