I dont usually write feedbacks or complaints, heck i dont write them here at all. But the recent craziness of new members, who had just joined the forum , posting polls after polls just to get information for their own, is getting on the grated nerves of mine, and im sure many as well. I would appreciate the mods to look into this, and evaluate if this is acceptable or an annoyance.
I do understand the need to search for information and ask questions in the forum, but these newbies can simply hit the "Search" button or engage Goggle for their queries, without even the need of posting one-liner questions in new threads, or much worse, getting their answers in polls.
For your consideration, LYN rulers.

If you don't like it why not just not look at the thread, its space wasting but its what the forums are for to ask opinions right, hell you remember when you were new to the forums once right,it takes time for the ppl to get around and understand how things go. I say let them be.

I understand the frustration, but even if we we're to put it in the rules to require users to search before posting, they don't read the rules and even if they did read the rules they'd post anyways. Just let it go, it sucks but thats how it is.

I dont know about you, but i always try to find answers on my own before returning to the forum or whining for answers as the last resort. Spoonfeeding is the ugly trait of a spoiled upbringing.
Give man fish, and he will be full for the day. But knowing that he can get fish by just asking for it, what's stopping him for getting and open his mouth for free fish? Instead TEACH HIM TO CATCH FISH, and he would have learnt valuable skills to live his life without having to whine for help, or trouble others. Is that concept alien to you,My royal Princess?

stringfellow is right. newbies need to learn to use the "search" button, or else, why the need for it?? LYN is kinda lax on these types of forum rules and etiquettes. (maybe it's the malaysian mentality). i've seen other forums really enforcing the law and punishing ppl for not searching the forum b4 posting a n00b question. it makes the forums look neat and tidy, plus it makes it easier for newbies to search since most of the answers are concentrated in only a couple of threads, instead of the 8,546,123 threads we see in here polling or asking the same question. this is a community forum, not your personal wikipedia.

Yeah your right, you can start doing so by personal messaging to each one of them, that'd way you would help the community into making what you preferred it to be.

Do people gloss over the TOS and dont even bother reading forum FAQ when they register new usernames when they join the forum? THEN deathbringer is right, these people are selfish, only care about themselves and what they need, and treat this placf like their personal wiki.

I must admit, this "Post before Reading/Searching" is a common thingy found in other Sections of this Forum too.
I would guess that having a Sig that sends the message across would be rather handy. What say you?
Cheers!

Maybe there should be a rule requiring you to read the rules/faq/terms of agreement, before you start posting or you'll be banned. That'd be GREAT, cause I've deleted so many dupe question threads that I've petty much given up trying to enforce the rule. And yes, searching is a rule in certain sections.

Quite an act you are choosing. But frankly, are you sure you can close every single posting in time? You know homo sapiens, if they want to have sex scandals everywhere, they will do so, no matter how much you interfere.
Anyway, hope you succeed in this crusade, Good Luck to you, ImAPrincess.
Cheers!

I don't see how we don't approve of what you were suggesting. ( Reference Thread/Post) Samurai1337 already said it and I'll say it again. Using the REPORT button is the best way to get our attention. It applies to this thread as well. This post has been edited by altie: Dec 16 2006, 01:31 AM
