 how to check what video format?, avi, wmv, mkv...

But you can use my trick. Load MKV & OGM using Media Player Classic (MPC). Go to File > Properties (Shift + 10). Go to Details. There you go. Can see what kind of codec being used.

I even assign different "playback" icon between AVI, MKV & OGM. Easy for me. thumbup.gif

i also use this trick to check the video format and bitrate
but the format sure will show, while the bitrate not in every video...
