Hi guys, how's the speaker volume for the z5 compact ? My z1 compact has a very very low volume compared to those phones that are not waterproof. Sometimes can't even hear the ringtone on busy streets. My old HTC has louder volume.

with dual stereo speakers, it's comparably louder.

Some photos here. Indoor photos. Output, overall looks good.  Post to social media quite good..

i realized if the subject is relative well lit then the output is gonna be good (provided if u do 8MP oversampling)

please forgive my shaky hand (f2.0 will not save me)

but the problem is that, it is very inconsistent. You wouldn't know whether the subject is well-lit enough to not return a grainy output (i have one but i can't post it cos it is my work notes on a whiteboard). I probably also suffer the left hand edge blur but it is not bad enough for me to go ask for an exchange (read this: https://talk.sonymobile.com/t5/Xperia-Z5-Z5...043401#U1043401 ). Yes, I knew about the problem before my purchase.

price of smartphone rose since the introduction of gst anyway, so...
if you like photos captured by sony's sensor, you have a lot of choices these days, some mid-rangers are quite well-built and they come with sony's sensor

EDIT: changed picture to smaller size

yeah, your photo a bit blur i guess due to shaky hand.. try to use Manual mode and choose scene Hand-Held Twilight.. it will try to keep ISO low, and combine few photos into 1. 1 of my previous example.. from my photo, you can see the car plate clearly.. One of the key thing you may apply in future shot, try use soft key in camera interface instead of camera shutter button. or else u set timer 0.5sec..

one thing that i like the Sony camera in Xperia is deliver the natural colour instead of boost saturation.. only Landscape do boost the saturation on RGB colour.. one things that Xperia Camera auto mode cant do well is white balance. in complicated light situation, white balance most is wrong.. but luckily right now got brightness and tone adjustments.. so it compensate the white balance thing.. once you get the good output, you may perform some editing for some photo sharing purpose or make photo looks more attractive in term of colour.. depend on personal preference..

timer wont help my shaky hand lol
if i really want a clear shot, i prolly want to jack up iso (and settle for grainy output) or get a tripod for this kind of shots lol

Mostly I will set to hand held twilight and hold my breathe during photo shooting for this situation.

For z5p, the 3.5mm headphone port is it "waterproof" like the usb port ?

Hmm...I went to test the z5 and z5p. I notice that z5p camera image quality sharper than z5. And the speaker seem a little louder on z5p. How about battery life? Which lasts longer?

it's been water resistant since Z Ultra years.

other than the 4K screen and mirror back finish (for Chrome colour), only that part is much more superior than Z5.
not to point out, the fingerprint reader/power button on Z5P is much more tactile than Z5.

Camera quality and battery life too seem better right? If yes I would get the z5p instead of z5

here's my test with my friend's phone previously. for me it's considered above average, as somehow there are some wakelock events.

here are my sample photos. across all the Z5 series, all are the same actually.

Normally back tempered glass will never cover the flashlight.

But the illustration doh.gif
They use the original Z5 instead.
