Hey guys,

Show you guys picture first:
Attached Image

Today i noticed hot air coming from my aircond vent. But strange thing is.. that the hot air is not coming equally from each vent.
With the above setting "in picture" (Half aircond to feet, half to forward/face), the air going to the feet area is hot, while the air coming to the forward/face is cold.

Afraid i might damage the aircon, i turned it off, drove home, and started self diagnostics. Heres what i found:

1. When setting the air to moderate cool temp, as in picture, hot air will come at the feet. cool air blows at the face (forward 4 vents)

2. When switch setting to forward/face only, the air coming out will feel mixed, warmish-cool. The air from the left and right vent will be cool, and the air from the middle two vents will be warm.

3. when setting the temp to cooler.. all vents give out cold air. even the feet vent blows cool air. However, i notice the aircond smells different, slight rubbery smell? but not serious, such as smoky.

4. opened my hood to check the aircond fan and radiator during each setting. seems like the radiator is work as per Standard. no strange noise or smoke.

So guys. any idea? every encounter this before?
Im hoping it is a simple case of maybe... not enough gas pressure.
But it seems some cooling slits might not be working... giving off heat instead.

Any ideas?

Hey guys,

I changed my tires yesterday, and when driving home i found the steering to be very different.
When i turn my steering wheel to make a sharp turn, then let go of the steering wheel, instead of the steering wheel return to straight position, the steering wheel turns even more!

Have anyone encountered this before?
I called the tire shop, they said they only did alignment, and should not affect the steering.

The whole story:

1. My old front tires were worn out, reached the thread mark indicator.
2. I bought two tires, and the shop placed them in the rear. The two old rear tires were placed to the front wheels.
3. The Rear tires are slightly larger, 225/45R18, compared to the front tires 225/40R18
4. The shop did alightment and balancing for all tires.
5. they took the car for a short test drive before giving me the tires.
6. When i was driving home, i found the steering was strange, but expected it was due to new tires.
7. I went to pump air, and found the tire pressures to be all random, 40psi Front Left, 30 psi rear left, 35 psi front right, 38psi rear right.
8. They aligned my car with different tire pressures.
9. I adjusted tire pressure back to normal, but still felt the effect of "steering pull?"

Any of these reasons could cause my steering to "over turn / over rotate"?

Normally when i let go of the steering wheel, the steering will auto return to straight.
But after changing tires, the steering sometimes turns even more when i let go of the steering wheel.

I noticed it turns alot more when i carparks, making sharper turns.

The shop i called says they cant do anything about that.

Any ideas?

Today went to proton SC to check on my steering problem.
They test drove my car, and could not determine the cause of the steering not return to center. Anyway..

They heard a kruk sound when my tires go over small potholes or other uneven stuff. suggested to check my suspension.
They lifted my car, and saw one absorber had leaked oil. Or dirt.Attached Image

The others had no noticeable leak.
The foreman said the front absorbers are Gas, so wont see any leak.
He told me the rear ones are hydraulic.

And they need to be changed every 5 years.

Total, they quoted me RM1300 to change all 4 absorbers.

Price below:
Shock absorber Rear RM 126 x 2pc
Strut Assy FR RM 195 x 2pc
Bump stopper FR RM 132 x 2pc
Bumpb stopper RR RM 108 x 2pc
Labour RM 95.40 x 2

You guys changed absorbers at proton?
Anyone changed to aftermarket? Any suggestions?

i searched thru the last 5 threads. so far i found that stock are KYB. and Grebber can be used. And the kluk sound is usually fixed by changing bump stopper.

Which SC u went? I will make sure I never step foot in there...front use GAS? No leak....all modern abs using Gas jor, but it will always have oil...back use hydraulic....fulamak....genius...all abs not hydraulic design meh?....still I salute the foreman....he is my hero..but I will never let him touch my car...basically for ur case is alignment issue, but then again u have weird tyre setup.....could be ur steering rack...but I doubt....anyways good luck

If the absorbers have no oil in it, how the shaft move up and down? The foreman in the SC is really a PHD (permanent head damage). After so many years yes may be the absorbers have to be change, but his knowledge will make customers a laugh stock. Send your car to other places for a check bro smile.gif There are many good absorbers now with a much lower price.

Any reccomendation on location or absorber?
Google doesnt seems to help.

Hey guys,

i found in a thread in 2011 that the stock spring rate is:
Front 5.5kg. Rear 3kg.

Anyone know if this is correct?

Incorrect.  And why bother spring when you got absorber issue?
*
considering coilovers.
Im thinking that if Kayaba/Greber have shorter lifetime (6 months warranty), and shortened lifespan with agressive driving, i might as well pay more for an upgrade.
GAB SS perhaps?

If car has no warranty, better buy the parts from proton parts, then install at normal workshop..u will save a lot..rear absorber Rm98 per piece, gst excluded..rear bump stopper around Rm90 per piece..bought last december..if wanna upgrade to coilover, better keep ur bump stopper..who knows one day u wanna revert to stock setup back (eg sell off ur car)..this will make wifey a bit bising as ur store room will full with piles of stock parts tongue.gif

oh, i was quoted a higher price from one of the proton SC. perhaps their prices were hiked up coz they are the "authorised vendor" workshop.

Anyway, i changed to Sachs absorbers, 4 pcs.
Changed all 4 bump stopper.
Changed my mounting, 2 pcs, ori mitsu japan.
The workshop tested the car, still had sound, and suggested to change the absorber link and bushing.
Changed those as well.
Finally no sound.

And my steering is back to normal, it pulls back to straight all the time now.
Dunno which of the items fixed it.

Overall cost was pricey.. Total sum = 1338

this month really poor liao.
Recently changed two Tires, Rm 700
Next will need to change fuel filter ~RM400
And oil change.. ~RM 140

Still 20kkm before change gear oil and sparks.
=( poor die me. haha

My soon to be 3 year old car is having this symptom:

When I'm starting the car, just about to turn the key to "Start" the seat belt beep and meter lights and aircond will stop for half second then come back. No problem starting - first crank can start ready. just the half second power loss.

Is this the sign of a weak battery? Or some electrical trouble. Alternator, starter motor, ignition ?

Happened the last 3 times I start.

Really?
Ever since i bought my car, my car starts like this. I thought its normal that the car will turn off everything for starting the car, then turn back on..

been 3 yrs now.
maybe @bluecar is describing something different

Last week, felt lots of vibration when driving at 120kmph on Highway.
Went to tire shop for on-wheel balancing, and they said my rims are bent.
So searched for a rim repair shop, found one in Kepong, YR auto.
Quoted RM85 per rim repair. (18 inch price)
After checking the rims, they found 3 are bent, and 1 is cracked.
=(
Needed to pay RM340, or choose new rims.
Since i needed them urgently, coz tomorrow travelling long distance, i choose the least unlikeable rims i could find.
Their selection is wide, but none caught my eye. Only one set that i found acceptable.
RM1850 to change all 4 rims. According to the salesperson, it is ori japanese rim. But when googling the brand, almost couldnt find it at all. Ferretti.
and the rim was repainted from chrome, according to the salesperson.

Anyways, i liked the rims, so got them. Found them to be heavier than my old rims, significantly.
Drove for about 5 days now. i found the FC increased from average 8-9L / 100km to now 10-11L / 100km.
Quite significant increase. =(

Apart from that, the car feels slower to accelerate. I dont know if it is psycological or placebo affect tho. But the fuel consumption looks clearly increased.

Will consider lighter rims in future. Heavy does not seem worth it.

Hi guys - need your help urgently - looking to buy Inspira 1.8M (Executive).

Currently, there is a massive discount for Inspira 1.8M (Executive) 2015 models - which come with 3 years warranty priced at about RM62K.

However, in www.carlist.my, there is another Inspira 1.8M (2010 model Executive) - - albeit 2nd hand - priced at about RM40K.
http://www.carlist.my/used-cars/2676582/20...anual-spec.html

A few questions???
(1): Which one is more worth it? Inspira 2015 vs. 2010? Price delta is about RM20K.
Before you guys shoot me down, i was informed that Inspira 2010 has about 27% local content whilst the Inspira 2015 has more than 60% local content.
Which one is more worth it? Not to forget Inspira 2015 comes with a 3 years warranty. But 60% local content makes me feel worried.

*
I would get the 2015 one. coz after 5 yrs of driving, alot of stuff in the car gets worn out. Needs to be changed out, could cost you 5 to 6k in the first year.

Brought my car to the authorised SC, Senaxis at Pj Taman Mayang Jaya. to check on the Clutch problem.

They could not see any leak on the pump. but they said the pressure is low.
They asked if i want to bleed it, and they highlight the risk of bleeding will blow the spring in the "upper" pump.

Now waiting on the quote from them
