Hi guys. I visitef the proton showroom yesterday and found out that inspira on discount because of end of production which costs around 70k for a manual 1.8 inspira.
Browsing through usedcar websites and notice the 2.0cvt going for around 40 to 50k anyone got some opinion on the following issues?

1) is inspira a hard and costly car to maintain?
2) i have read about the cvt problem.. is the cvt problem still there? And is there any way to check for a fault cvt gearbox assuming im buying a 2nd hand cvt inspira?

Thank you for your feedback. This is my situation now. Im just started work for 1 year or so and am planning to get a car. I have a peugeot 208 that is giving me loads of problems  and im looking to replace with something more cost friendly. The reason i am looking for a larger is due to my family (5 of us ) the largest car we have is a honda city and im looking for somethung to fit all of us without the need to squeeze tightly in a car.

When you say speeding, what speed does it normally happen at? Will the light only come out and nothing else? Or will it impact the car as in no more acceleration / problems with the drive?

is our windscreen still cost RM~1800 for 1.8m?
i saw from the old old parts list that windscreen alone cost RM 470+? haha

just wondering how much i need to insure to cover the windscreen replacement.

Hi guys - need your help urgently - looking to buy Inspira 1.8M (Executive).

Currently, there is a massive discount for Inspira 1.8M (Executive) 2015 models - which come with 3 years warranty priced at about RM62K.

However, in www.carlist.my, there is another Inspira 1.8M (2010 model Executive) - - albeit 2nd hand - priced at about RM40K.

A few questions???
(1): Which one is more worth it? Inspira 2015 vs. 2010? Price delta is about RM20K.
Before you guys shoot me down, i was informed that Inspira 2010 has about 27% local content whilst the Inspira 2015 has more than 60% local content.
Which one is more worth it? Not to forget Inspira 2015 comes with a 3 years warranty. But 60% local content makes me feel worried.

(2): What is the maintenance costs for Inspira (on average)? all the while - i just drive an old Wira - maintenance cost is not more than RM1K per year. However, this car is already damn old - more than 20 years (Wira 1995 - carburettor) and selling price is just RM2K.

(3): Purpose of this car - is just to drive to work and come back home and probably outstation trip once in a blue moon. Not used for Ah Beng vroom vroom - i am just looking for a reliable ride which can easily last for 10 years plus.

Hence, maybe Inspira is just an overkill? Should i hunt for Waja CPS Manual 2008 second hand? Selling for RM20K?

Please don't suggest Vios or City because first - these are expensive and second - i am 6 feet tall and very well build. Hence, it is kind of pathetic having to squeeze into a Vios/ City.
By the way - Jetta is having a promotion at RM88,888 - but dare not touch it due to DSG and Gearbox issue.
