Topic about Fuel Filters and why it costs about RM3xx+ to Rm4xx.

For a while I have been wondering why do they sell the entire pump casing with the fuel filter while we can buy it from taobao or local marketplace at way cheaper price.

Turns out the filter is actually sealed in the casing itself and has to be cut open if you want to take it out. Which means destroying the pump casing.

The flat pillow thing is actually called a fuel strainer.

Need. But rm400 is overkill for 60k.. The fuel goes into the so call retainer.. Being filter.. Only reach the pump.. The pump then push thru the round thing.. With the actual filter.. So we cheapskate change the entry point first.
*
Ah ok understood now. Always thought the pillow is the filter.

fuel strainer (teh uncang one), is not original Mitsubishi or Proton..it is OEM
*
Not mistaken it is a Mitsubishi Part and has a part number but they are not selling it here. It's only in China.

1770A130

There are even filters for Fuel Injectors for sale in Russia with Mitsubishi part numbers but those are standard size so any Injector cleaning/balancing shops should have them in stock.

i got used yellow and used TRW disc package, better than green, but noisier/more dust.
*
Have you tried Rapidstop pads before?

How does the TRW hold up to your circuit abuse?

I believe TRW is the factory disc also?

I used to use Rapidstop 550C on my previous ride.  Significant brake dust and it'll chew up the rotor a bit.  Apart from that, no complain on the braking.
*
Ah OK similar to bendix metal king I assume?
QUOTE(Quazacolt @ Apr 9 2016, 11:29 AM)
Rapid stop no please.
Tried and never again

TRW discs a bit softer than our Stock,  wears faster it seems. But it only cost a fraction of the price compared to stock rotors,  so ok la lol
*
Any reason for not using rapidstop pads?

Did you use the 550s or 800s?

last time used 550

crazy brake dust, brake fades and recovers rather slowly. wears very fast on both the pad itself and rotor.
when its worn beyond 50%, all performance decreases drastically.
*
Weird that it can fade for a 550 degree pad.

Been trying to source akebonos but unable to find them for sale here.

Any affordable alternatives which are better than stock pads but not as costly as EBCs?

QUOTE(k!nex @ Apr 17 2016, 04:17 PM)
Want to ask you guys opinion. I am still using the stock 16 inch rim. Want change tyre already as the original CC5 already hitting 65k km mileage. 90% worn out.
I was offered like this:

205/55/16
Hankook Ventus V12 Evo 2 -> RM331 /piece incl A/B
Bridgestone RE003 -> RM 320/piece not include A/B

I am aware the speedometer will not be accurate anymore since the tyre diameter is smaller than original one.
I am also concerned that RE003 very fast finish it seems, coz threadwear very lousy.

Which one to choose now ?? Or any other recommendation . Actually Yokohama AE50 also inside my consideration but not many people are selling it for the right price because when I go ask, it is almost same as the RE003 price..

I know Michellin PS3 is good but freaking exp. I got an offer RM380 for 205/55/16.  Way too exp, so its out of consideration.
*
Why not look for 205 60 16s?

Performance tyres for ori size does not exist...
*
I'd vote for RE003.

Also if you want to stick to OEM Specs then look for used 17" Inspira wheels or something. They have sizes for Performance Tyres.

Guys , when we need to change the alternater/fan belt for 4b10 ? 80k or 100k ?

I have clocked 80km . Car not under warranty period and all proton closed for raya today(the ones i know) . so, planning to do service at normal workshop.
*
I changed mine around 120+k when the tensioner started to shake noticably when it's running and my car was not involved in the tensioner/pulley recall.

I sourced the metal pulleys taken from the Hyundai Genesis and installed that instead of the plastic ones but it's not a necessary move. Can just replace back with new plastic ones.
