How to order Supcase from its website
No Malaysia for shipping country
*
A colleague of mine said he ordered shipped from China, not sure which website he used though. I can find some of the products in Lazada, but the selection is not complete and the price is pretty high. He ordered the UB Style variant, which looks and feels far sturdier than my current Spigen Liquid Armour without that much difference is thickness or weight. I haven't had a chance to examine if the cut outs were precise or not after Silencer's feedback yesterday smile.gif

Some 3rd party accessories only can support the iOS version (said during the time the product is launched)

Once newer iOS version is released it'll break the support.
Happens to me few times before like those 3rd party lightning cables.
*
Yeah, exactly, which is why the only cheapo third party accessories I ever buy are cases - and screen protectors, heh heh...

Public Service Announcement

1. Use only original/certified accessories, especially chargers and cables
2. When a cable is damaged, discard immediately and do not use further

Got the Lazada delivery way early than the estimated date (supposed to be on Monday). Here are the cases. Really confusing times. Hahaha.
*
Wow, that must be like close to RM500 in cases!

QUOTE(moniqee @ Nov 21 2017, 02:28 PM)
which is better? otterbox commuter or achiever?
*
QUOTE(rai_fuzz @ Nov 21 2017, 08:55 PM)
Achiever “feels” slimmer than commuter. One thing though, both does not fit full covering tempered glass, had to replace mine to normal ones to use this case. It was perfectly fine with UAG and all my other cases so far.
*
I’ve used Otterbox Commuter, Achiever, Symmetry and even Defender, ha ha ha.

I agree though, Commuter provides more protection from drops compared to Achiever, but Achiever Is the least bulky. Of course, none comes close to the Defender in terms of protection, if you don’t mind carrying a brick around (my wife remarked if you throw the Defender at a dog, you might kill the dog). Symmetry offers good protection as well, I used it with my 6S Plus previously and after numerous drops, no dents on the phone, and also it fits with a tempered glass too (Commuter and Achiever couldn’t).

Yeah currently using defender... but agreed... I can use full tempered glass on defender and no problem...
*
QUOTE(rai_fuzz @ Nov 22 2017, 09:12 AM)
I think it has to do with the 2 piece construction of the Achiever & Commuter. Symmetry is one piece IINM hence it does not pose the same problem. But it’s more expensive than Commuter no?
*
I think the price of the Symmetry and Commuter doesn’t differ that much, but yeah, Symmetry is single piece construction so maybe that’s why the phone with tempered glass fits. Anyways, I like Otterbox products, but the prices are going on the uptrend.

+1 for the Otterbox!

You can buy cases at maxis with discounts even if you don’t buy the phone from them?

Yes, you can. I asked the same question. But it helps a bit if you are a Maxis customer. The sales person (very good service, btw) will ask for hp number and email address.

The otterbox will be my main case. Nowadays, I prefer flip cases.
*
Nice! Did not know that. Always assumed you’d have to buy a phone from them to be entitled to the 20% discount. They do have some nice branded cases there.

Exactly. smile.gif

I’m looking for a reasonably good sp. Read that Hoda is good and found machines selling from $85 onwards. I probably want someone to install for me as my own attempts usually don’t produce good results.
*
I’m using Hoda (full coverage) for my 8 Plus now and I can vouch for the quality. No fingerprint smudges and excellent clarity smile.gif

Yeah, I’m also hopeless at DIY screen protectors which is why I don’t mind paying a premium to get it professionally installed smile.gif

how much did u pay for the hoda full coverage?

any photo etc? haha. And also what casing are u using.
*
I paid about RM90 at machines. With the full coverage tempered glass, the phone won’t fit my Spigen cover (Neo Crystal Hybrid) but it fits my incipio cover, not sure what’s it called, ha ha. Will try to upload some photos tomorrow. Cheers mate!

Got myself a Ringke Fusion case and Hoda Full Coverage Tempered Glass SP for my iPhone X yesterday

I can confirm that those 2 fits together perfectly and makes for a solid protection for your iPhone X
*
I think the concern for many on the Ringke Fusion is that the clear ones will yellow over time. I had it on my ex Note 5 previously and it started to show signs of yellowing after 6 months. But I agree that it offers solid protection. Dropped the Note 5 a couple of times and no cracks or dents.

QUOTE(Lego Warfare @ Nov 30 2017, 12:56 AM)
lol not sure about others, but the only ones I trust at the moment is UAG, Otterbox and maybe Rhinoshield (all the drop test reviews look great but still a bit skeptical on a flat back drop. The backplate protrudes slightly and not flushed for the bumper to absorb the initial impact, so if anything the backplate will absorb the impact and the their "locks" at the inner bumper is not really secure to transfer the impact to the bumper. If the impact do not disperse to the bumper, the backplate impact could transfer to the iPhone glass back and potentially crack/or the backplate cracks inwards and cracks the iPhone glass back as well)

Lol I hope it is just me being paranoid, but I hope I don't get to test that theory in my iPhone's lifetime biggrin.gif
*
Same. I'm even a little skeptical about Spigen's ability to handle drops, ha ha. But I agree - the purpose of the protection is for unforeseen accidents, and not deliberate testings biggrin.gif
