Hi, I'm helping a school kid get a laptop. She's in high school.

1. Preferred Brand: Anything but Acer or Asus. (Reasonable After sales service and can use at least 2-3 Years)
2. Budget: RM 2.5k (including MS Office)
3. Usage: Microsoft office and surfing (Facebook, Instagram, Youtube and whatnot kids do these days lol)
4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14"
5. Other preferences: Good after sales service. Must last >3 years

Hi, is there much different between older and the newer gen processors? Is it worth it to buy an older laptop with an 5th gen i7 for the same price as a new laptopr but with an i5?
