Hi guys, looking for recommendation for a budget but reliable enough laptop for work.

Preferably to have the following criteria:

1. Preferred Brand: Any brand but Acer.
2. Budget: Preferable below 2k. Somewhere between 1.5K would also be nice.
3. Usage: Browsing webpages and streaming from sites like Youtube. Spreadsheet work and other office applications.
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : At least 14 inch or larger.
5. Personal preference: Don't care about gaming much, as long as it's able to stream and playback HD or full HD video smoothly.

If you want a laptop that is equipped with a FHD panel screen, then you need at least RM2.5k. sad.gif
The following models price are around RM1.7k. Both comes with HD screen and it should work good for your job biggrin.gif

HP 14-ac140TU 14" Laptop/ Notebook (i3-5005U, 4GB, 1TB, AMD R5 M330, W10)
Asus X455LJ-WX319T X-Series 14" Laptop/ Notebook (i3-5010U, 4GB, 500GB, NV GT920M, W10H)

Thanks bro. I don't really care about the panel or max resolution of the screen. As long as the laptop is able to playback HD or full HD videos smoothly it's already fine by me. nod.gif

I will look into those models that you recommended right away. Thanks for your help. smile.gif

reminder : no matter how good the laptop is, if "User tends to be very rough with his stuff." this very cheap up to 10k laptop also useless. i dont expect it will survive until 2nd year...

Unless than person is a gorilla than the only choice would be one of those Panasonic Toughbook laptops or custom made laptops for rugged conditions used by people in the mining, geological and research sector.

The only downside other than the asking price would be these kind of laptops normally weight at least a few kilos and simply not a joy for the average person to transport around.
