hi guys, need some opinion:

1. Preferred Brand: Anything except Acer

2. Budget: RM2.5-3.2k

3. Usage:
Stock trading, MS office:outlook emailing and excel files, Reading, Online surfing, movies, maybe some games(1 title/year, if at all)

Will usually multitask and have about 7-10 programs and 15-20 tabs open in chrome at any 1 time. - Maybe RAM important?

4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14'. PLanning to have a separate monitor and use as a desktop

5. if possible have an Nvidia graphic card but definitely not a priority. (Is this important for watching 4k movies?)

6. SSD is important but can i upgrade separately to save cost ?

7. Reliability is quite important

8. I can wait so if there is any new model coming out that is worthwhile i definitely can wait for it
Thank you in advance for all sifu recomendation

Hi all, need some recommendations for a laptop for my dad.

1. Brand - Any
2. Budget - <2.5k
3. Specs - SSD and 8gb ram. lightweight. Please no hybrid ssd also.
4. Size - <14 inch

I dont mind upgrading them myself but must be below the overall budget (as long as it doesn't break the warranty! Say 300 for both ssd and ram). I'm fine even with i3 processors as the bottleneck nowadays is usually the disk. Mostly will be used for web browsing, web games, video streaming.

Lenovo Ideapad 100 Intel i5-5200U, 4GB DDR3 RAM, N16V-GM 2GB, 128GB SSD, 14" HD, 1.9KG RM1.9k

can buy another 4gb ram to make it 8gb

hi , i would love to have some recommendations from sifus

1. brands : any
2. usage : movies , studies , light browsing
3. weight : under 2kg ( lesser = better)
4. budget : recommend me for under 5k / 4k
5. screen size : 13'
6. other preferences : 8gb of ram
                                    ssd ( no hdd )
                                    portability is a must
                                    touch screen not a must

I have been using Acer V3-471g (i5) for years and it serves me well but it kinda heats up easily now so I wanna upgrade , been looking into macbooks and dellxps 13 so I would love to have some opinions given before deciding on one.

thank you
*
choose macbook if you want macOS
dell xps13 is a good laptop for your needs but the ram is not upgradable, the ram are soldered to motherboard
the price for dell xps13 with 8gb ram are 6k at dell official website

if you still want 8gb ram, you can consider these laptops
Dell Inspiron 13 7359T Intel i7-6500U, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 256GB SSD, 13.3" FHD IPS, 1.66KG RM4.6k
HP Spectre x360 Intel i5-6200U, 8GB DDR3 RAM, 128GB SSD, 13.3" FHD IPS with touchscreen, 1.48KG RM5K
