Hi all , IM looking for Dell vostro 14 v5459-50814G  with the following spec:
-corei7-6500u
-8gb ram
-Nvidia GeForce 930m 4gb
-1tb hdd
-dos

however most of the pc shop doesn't sell dell and the dell website doesn't allow me the option for choosing the dos version may i know where can i get this?

Okay, I must admit I am quite an idiot when it comes to IT thingy...
1. How do I choose between these laptops? Does it mean the more expensive the better?
2. What difference does this i3, i5 & i7 processor make?
3. The last one Vostro 14-5459 @ RM3599 is kinda out of my budget but I just wonder what makes it more expensive? I noticed the difference is other laptops comes with 500GB hard drive but it's 1TB hard drive? Anyone can advise?
4. Lastly, does it mean any laptop usually last 3-5 years (I know depend on how we take care of them) no matter how expensive or cheap the laptop we purchase? If so, I wouldn't want to go for too expensive laptops though.

I tried to search about processor but I realised I cant really understand the article.. it says smt like i5 is not necessary better than i3 etc. I wonder if any sifu could explain in a way i'd understand... Questions as below (yeah I know they may sound dumb but I wish to understand abit more before I make the decision)

need recommendation to buy a gaming laptop.

Budget is 5k to 6K.

Hope to get 60 fps with the upcoming Total War Warhammer. I do DOTA too but i guess if my benchmark is Total War, then DOTA shouldnt be a problem. also planning to play games like Witcher 3.

Other usage is for work. Need a laptop so i can do presentation (powerpoint) to clients.

Ive been lurking here to do research and so far the best bet are Z5 or Z7. But are there any other recommendation that comes with 980m with my (5-6k) budget? otherwise lowest is with 970M.

Gosh…it’s so tough to pick one! I guess I’d better try listing down requirements I wish for the laptop then.

1. Preferred Brand:  Dell (for its aftersales service) or any brand which I can place order online with good aftersales service

2. Budget: RM2.5k – RM3k (additional RM200-300 is fine if that allows to get a better laptop)

3. Usage: Normal internet surfing, watch videos, play music, excel/word

4. Preferred laptop/screen size: 14” or 15”? Just normal laptop sized screen

5. Other preference: Light weight, no heating issue -  kinda like ultrabook & 2-in-1 laptop, are they better than ordinary laptop?

1. If I’d customize the Dell or other proposed brand laptop, possibly to teach me what to include & exclude? Ie you mentioned in # 3 get basic one and add ssd (I dun even know what basic one and what this ssd does )

The cooling designs for similar slimmer laptop (ie S15EV) with GTX970m~GTX980m (TDP 75W~100W)  normally is better than those (ie GS60) with GTX960m~GTX970m (TDP 65W~75W).
During full stress, S15EV palm rest is comfortable and surface temp is lower than GS60 with similar powerful spec in slim chassis.
