I'm interested to get a new laptop since my current laptop is 5+ years old already. Recently the gfx card died and will cost around RM160+ for "reballing". It'll work I hope but wont be sustainable in the near future.

Thus interested in a new laptop. I believe I should wait for the latest technological advancement in gfx card to come out first such as the GeForce 1000 series. Waiting for the mobile versions. I'm a gamer. Do any of u guys know when that might be?

pascal? should be released early of jun and we can see some laptop with pascal maybe end of jun i guess

Consider k501lx but couldn't find one in malaysia website. Only found k501ub which has lower spec of graphic card. If not, pls suggest other model which is better

but better buy from shop at least you can see and touch the laptop to see whether you like it or not
other than that i cant find any laptops that has same or better spec like k501lx below 2kg with that budget, dell xps15 and asus zenbook pro has better spec below 2kg but the price is over your budget above 6k

hi everyone.
im considering a laptop between lenovo and dellLenovo Ideapad 700-15ISK 80RU004GMJ 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook (i7-6700HQ, 4GB, 500GB, 128GB SSD, NV GTX950, W10H)
&
Dell Inspiron 15 7559-30414G-DOS 15.6" Laptop/ Notebook (i5-6300HQ, 4GB, 1TB, NV GTX960M, NO Windows)

i dont gaming , i do coding mostly
i prefer lenovo because which has more powerful processor and SSD built in.
but i heard that lenovo comes with good spec but low quality.
my friend recommends the dell laptop.to me
between two laptops, which is better or any other recommendation?
*
for coding purpose, i5 should be sufficient for coding
choose Dell if you want good after sales service

Hi guys, looking for ultrabook/light weight laptops recommendation

1. Preferred Brand: No preference
2. Budget: from 2.5k~3.5k
3. Usage: Office, civil engineering softwares such as Autocad, Java and only light photoshop, not for gaming
4. Preferred laptop/screen size : not less than 13.
5. Others: SSD if possible for that price range, RAM can be upgraded to 8GB.

Currently eyeing up HP Envy 13 and ASUS Zenbook UX305. What do you guys think about core-m processor and i5-6200
*
intel core-m processor is underpowered to run autocad
yes it can run autocad but not fast as intel i5
always choose i5 over core-m processor
other than envy 13 that comes with ssd or the ram can be upgraded to 8gb, you can consider these laptops
Lenovo E31-80 Intel i5-6200U, 4GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD Graphics, 128GB SSD, 13.3" HD, 1.59KG RM2.4k
Acer Aspire S 13 Intel i5-6200U, 8GB DDR3 RAM, Intel HD, 256 GB SSD, 13.3" IPS FHD, 1.42KG RM3.4k

Is Acer S13 good?

battery life?
heat management?
the SSD is using m.2 or PCIe ?
*
i can say mediocre
the battery can last around 7 hours while surfing, heat management quite ok if you not put your laptop on your lap the palm rest area remain cool even under full stress.
