actually most of mobile graphic were using same interface, so technically is possible to swap. But will also depend on ur laptop whether got slot or not , can provide enough power, compatibilities, got enough space or not, heatsink can suffer it's heat or not?
USA got some sort of barebone laptop which u can customize ur own spec, with various of choices. Sadly malaysia dont had those things i guess.
actually what you said is not quite accurate.USA got some sort of barebone laptop which u can customize ur own spec, with various of choices. Sadly malaysia dont had those things i guess.
Long back, nvidia came up with a laptop graphic card standard called MxM, it was suppose to create a standard card size, interface for mobile graphic cards, so that they can be easily upgraded/replaced like desktop graphic card. However, not much manufacturers adopted to the standard back then, and currently, the standard is no longer free, it is controlled by MXM SIG, which is under nvidia. Only their client are allowed to use the MXM standards. MXM have 2 generations now, first generation have a few types, which are MXM I, MXM II, MXM III and MXM IV, where second gen has MXM-A and MXM-B. The different type of MXM are meant for different range of cards
If your laptop is using MXM standard, then yes, you can swap with the same type of MXM card..however, MXM cards are bloody pricey, and your heatsink might not be compatible with the graphic card you swapped. If your laptop graphic card is not MXM standard, then no, you cant change it at all
