I approached one agent online for insurance and the agent quoted me. I clarified with him but he give many conflicting information.

AIA
A Life signature coverage RM500K. - He mentioned that incase of critical illness the premium will be paid for and that I don't have to pay premium.
1) Is this true ?
2) will I receive any payment incase I suffer critical illness. or payment only upon death and TPD.

Tq everyone for your advise.

It depends on the rider you attached together with the plan, if waiver of premium is added then upon tpd or critical illness, the policy will be continued to be paid by the insurance company

If there is critical illness rider then you will be paid for critical illness.

Each life planner will have their own opinion base on their findings

1. Your life planner should have sat down with you to understand your needs and wants
2. From there a proper plan is proposed
3. He should explain to you clearly what is proposed.
4. Consider and accept if everything is okay

The medical card is not free upon tpd or 36 Ci

Its just continued to be paid by the insurance company

Example you are paying 300 per month for your policy

However you gotten tpd or critical illness on the way

AIA will continue to pay the 300 for you until certain age

However in between if there is sufficient cash value due to maybe poor returns or increased in premium charges

You might have to top up on top of the 300 that's being paid by the insurance company on your behalf

Oh I think that 1 you call your car insurance answer you better

Less ppl doing general insurance nowadays since the day insurance company took over and sell upfront to the customers. So better call their help desk, if you bogus it from an agent, get that agent to service you.

any prudential agents here can share the difference between PRUvalue med, and PRUlink one with medical?

i got proposed for a policy under PRUvalue med, with the following coverage:
life 300k
ci 300k
minor accident 8k
hospitalization rm200/day for room
lifetime limit 1.5mil
room and board RM300

and price is around 7k p/a... i understand from some friends that got PRUlink one with higher coverage, and lower premium... hmm so whats the difference, causing my premium to be so much higher as compared to my friend, with same premium, getting double my coverage?

Age, smoker/non-smoker, gender, occupation and deductible within the policy plays a factor in the premium.

it's better to look into their policy first then you'll be able to tell what they're enjoying and what they're paying for.

If just based on verbally, it might be inaccurate.

Ask the agent to provide a full sales illustration as every riders added to the policy serves different purposes. Naturally it translates to cost.

But mind if i ask why the Rm8k for the minor accident? If it was minor youre better off paying for it rather than buy insurance? If the bill for accident is > Rm500, it would be better off to be admitted to a hospital, rather than being treated as an outpatient in clinic.

Concentrate on the bigger bills rather than the small ones to save on the premium.

Ps, i am not allowed to discuss the detail sales illustration here but you may PM to me or email it to me if you need further clarifications.

hear hear - Roy's advice on "cover the big stuff" is hardly heard from most agent$ - U know why right?

Insurance is a vehicle to manage risks that we cannot AFFORD to manage ourselves - if we can afford it, why bother with insurance?
Unless for "special circumstances" of estate planning & protection from creditors la - that is another level of game heheh

To those old hands that think insurance companies are like charities - keep in mind it is a for-profit. Whatever risk ratios * costs they cover for us, we pay a PREMIUM over their costs to cover profits for shareholders, bonuses & certain business/real world uncertainties. That is why our payment is called an Insurance PREMIUM tongue.gif
