QUOTE(lifebalance @ Jul 10 2016, 11:40 PM) 99% would be a big slap of generalization towards insurance industry based on your point of view though. I stand firm on my view. I ain't asking anyone follow or accept my view. It's your choice. So what you mean 99% of them really don't explain the charts is true.. |

QUOTE(JIUHWEI @ Jul 11 2016, 12:50 PM) tsk tsk tsk making invalidated claims... Normally those agents denied of that statement will come with negative replies...I would suggest to consider to improve the service as they always claimed. Proof me wrong by asking 100 or 1000 insured persons. And being so bold to make the claim against thousands of very senior agents in the industry too! Bashing others just to solicit business shows that you have no value to offer. That's not my point. Do focus on my point that do understand what you purchased and stated in your policy. Don't be fire starter, make it to yourself. This post has been edited by Ryannate: Jul 11 2016, 08:48 PM |

QUOTE(JIUHWEI @ Jul 12 2016, 01:27 PM) I am a registered member with FPAM (Financial Planning Association of Malaysia). Holding FPAM as somebody and enjoying self claiming results as your status? The insurance industry has come a long way, and it has matured from bashing and killing others just to solicit business. For example, I have 5 agency assistants to service my clients and my agents' clients. How about you prove yourself right? I'm calling your bluff, show me your survey data! You are the one who made the claim that 99% of insurance agents in the market are basically hiding projected returns, facts and figures from the clients. And since 99% of agents are crooks, why should anyone buy anything from you? Why should anyone trust you? You are the one that joined a band of crooks (you claimed it yourself). Trust me, I am nobody on the streets. Insurance industry come along way, I am agree with that sentence. Insurance industry contain 2 parts, one is d company, d other is d agent. Showing you prove with my survey....I am not sure you can accept that...I would prefer you do your own research. Hiding projected returns? Facts? I wonder where that came from...from me or your own interpretation ? You can call me bluff, thats your expression. I don't understand your reply based on what. Serving clients is one thing, not explaining underwritten policy to clients is another thing. Still don't get my point? Another thing, who want buy or don't from me also your problem? why should I want someone or anyone to trust me? Time will tell. You can stand firm on your view and it goes same with me, as I said, this is my own opinion. Joined a band of crooks? Speechless.... Have a nice day... |

QUOTE(smartinvestor01 @ Jul 13 2016, 12:44 PM) Dear all, Yes they are aggressive now all over Malaysia. Many insurance companies do have the best plans for the market, the only different is you can archive it with free medical protection for life, and the rest are pay till either dead or terminated.Do you ever heard about this MXM International company? They are started to go aggressive in promoting their medical card which was claimed to be one of the best in the market. I just want to know.. is their policies issued underwritten by the qualified insurance company? MXM is a coporate agency. What is coporate agency? Example..all banks, post office, Air Asia, Sen-Q, and etc. In which they can sell insurance to their clients or members. MXM is the license holder for Pathlab. They bundle or packaged medical insurance with PA and yearly free body checkup to their members. |

QUOTE(JIUHWEI @ Jul 13 2016, 01:01 PM) Their medical policies are underwritten by LonPac Insurance Bhd (formerly London & Pacific Insurance Bhd). This is really simply answered pinjam and tampal...hahahaTheir life and critical illness policies are provided by MCIS Zurich. Hmm... why macam pinjam and tampal here and there wan? Any MXM agents here care to clarify further? Last month I heard somebody posted top 10 scam companies in Malaysia in FB, ended up being sued by MXM till he apologised and taken down from the post. |

But if added others such as life or others and with saving or investment is 25 - 45% and reducing yearly up to 6 years. They will find you every 2-4 yrs either introduce you better plan (upgrade) or sell you a new product.Wanna to ask how much is the (minimum) commission that an agent can earn from a sale of medical card? QUOTE(watabakiu @ Jul 13 2016, 10:35 PM) Thanks for all the replies. They are one of the pioneer of medical card. underwriting by Lonpac. So to be clear, the business is legit, and that the company is bundling LonPac insurance + Pathlab facilities? So when it comes to the insurance underwriting, it is with LonPac and/or MXM? What about claims, then? Medical claim is arranged by Asia Assistant. You may google it. Asia assistant will assist all MXM members for admission and claims. Apart from that, all MXM offices in Malaysia are claim centre to members for Lonpac and pacific insurance. My medical card is from them, been holding for 8 years now. I quite like their get over, which will going to launch soon on car insurance mobile app, which can save 5% of car premium yearly. |

QUOTE(watabakiu @ Jul 14 2016, 12:03 AM) Sorry, but come again? I try my best to explain, and hopefully you can understand.Do tell me if I understand this correctly. MXM is the agent/reseller, policy is guaranteed by Lonpac. Cases of claims/admissions handled by another entity called Asia Assistant (I suppose in case of dispute in non-claimable charges is handled by them too?). MXM is also... packaging insurance for pacific? And one only needs to call Asia Assistant and/or MXM offices? Oh dear, I dun think i am following you here. --- I take it that you are happy with the service (supposed you have made claims before), since you are holding it 8 years already. Or is it because it is cheaper than other policies out there? Or perhaps this is more comprehensive? Do tell us more, as many of us are weighing on what/which insurers to take. Nobody can buy insurance directly from insurance company (first rule). MXM is a coporate agency, compared to eg. Like ah chong insurance, Cynthia takaful insurance, dream chaser insurance. All that I think called individual agency. Correct me if I am wrong on this part. Coporate agency offered to those company which have a big volume of customers, such as bank, jusco, pathlab n etc. Medical card is very straight forward, that's why it is in a card system just like credit card. What means just like credit card? When credit card just launched in Malaysia, people will compare which bank issued the credit card for higher status. Malaysian that time having a mindset, if I holding hsbc credit card is much better than those holding may bank or bsn one. Today, Malaysian do not care about which bank issued but compared with platinum, gold or titanium n etc. people do not care much of which bank issued. This is applied to medical card, when during admission to hospitals, the doctors and nurses or the reception clerks do not bother which insurance company issued. They just concern your room and board rate and limits are enough to cover o not. There was my previous post explained the procedure of using medical card. That post do explain clearly how it works from hospital. Meaning to say, you are save if your limits are high. Asia assistant is admission agent for insurance company. There is another admission agent called SOS. They are third party company engaged by insurance company on handling medical claim, but some insurance company done by their agents.(die if agent go holiday) These company, provide ambulance from ground to air. MXM engaged them for international emergency evacuation worth USD1mil per case. Those insurance companies engaged this service only below rm100k.(mana cukup if call air ambulance fly in just to angkat 1 patient). Besides that, they screen through all the bills and Negotiate with the hospital if overcharged as they have doctors to filter the bills to jaga your limits. Lastly they pay first then reimburse from insurance companies. Meaning to say, those not engaged this services, insured person have to pay first and agent assist in reimbursement . Maybe some have contract with insurance company. So you van understand certain insurance companies have limited panels. And MXM having one of the most panels compared with others. In order for you to understand more, all medical cards do have a contact number at the back. This is d number which the hospital will call to ensure insured person protection still valid and limits. These numbers either be toll free or direct line. Once these admission bodies received a call , then they will fax or email over forms for the doctor to fill in the report, the content such as what sickness of d patient, based on your expertise, when it is started, what's your advise or solution, what's the estimated cost, n etc. once doctor submitted back, the company will fax or email over, guarantee payment for the person with stated on room limits, operation limits. If the doctor found that limits are below the cost, the doctor will asked the reception to contact the patient to put deposit either by cash or credit card.. MXM offices served as claim centre for : reimbursement before and after of admission on doctor consultation, within 30 days, minor injured (PA)reimbursement such as accidentally cut fingers or fall down from stairs and leg broken and treated by doctors, etc. They are selling Lonpac, pacific insurance and Mcis insurance protection individual package. I chosen this and introduced this to all my friends and families, I claimed before and some of my friends..reason is coverage is big, super comprehensive, it is reasonable price. I did from time to time meet agents promoting insurance to me and as usual I will ask them to quote me for the same protection..of course theirs bundled with investment. I am paying 200++/ monthly now and they quoted me around 600 - 800 monthly. I am glad I chosen this. I am still remember I told my doctor, don't ask me how to treat because you r specialist, you know better than me, give me the most confort and efficient treatment and money is not an issue. Haha....most of my friends who claimed sure come and belanja me makan, but I told them is not me help u or save u, it's yourself who listen n you who saving yourself and your family. That's why I always tell my friends do not entertain a friend who is an agent because when you buy its mean for yourself to use and must know what you bought. You will find it super cheap if buy for whole family and saved a lot with individual policy. Buying a medical card, don't look at the company and the agent, must look at what benefits they are offering. Besides all those good points, they do provide me body check free every year , and better than those umbrella, diaries, pen drive or meals. For MXM, I personally went to their talks 4 times before I make my decision. Why 4 times? Because I want to make sure whatever they told me, I need verification from most famous insurance company senior group levels. Found out they all admitted silently. I even got about 9 insurance companies quotation to compare.i asked all senior to explain all the content in the policy, found out what I been telling, only few knows to explain but won't explain to their clients if they don't ask. I even make appointments to meet the Ceo of some company to explain to me. I don't trust human words, I trust knowledge. That's why I said lots of agents are not knowleable but used their harsh way to cover it. This post has been edited by Ryannate: Jul 14 2016, 10:55 PM |

QUOTE(kengyan @ Jul 15 2016, 11:11 PM) http://www.chinapress.com.my/20160610/%E8%...85%AC%E5%8F%B8/ I don't trust anyone or rely on anyone, that's why you have to educate yourself..when talking about business, people always find ways to seal the deals, you have to be in upper position in the deal. We can't just assume all agents ane bad, and make you not to buy insurance for protection or because of that mindset, you simply get a agent for protection. That's called putting your money and your life in danger. Who to blame?http://www.chinapress.com.my/20160316/%E5%...%8B1%E8%90%AC3/ http://www.chinapress.com.my/20160304/%E4%...AA%BF%E6%9F%A5/ Looks like you have some good experience on insurance. After I read the above cases, can i really trust insurance agents? From My experience, MXM give talks weekly, let you to understand what's important and what's hidden in insurance but i don't simply trust what they said until I clarified through those level 1 agent (give up) till the top outside. Find agents talk more about protection and policy. Justify the conversation, if the agents talk more on investment and the company, I suggest you to avoid because this type of agents want sales more than provide a comprehensive protection for you. If you buy insurance because of returns or investment or cash rewards, then nobody to blame but yourself. This is your life..only one chance with one decision. In Malaysia, we are still in teaching of what is insurance...we are way back from those developing countries. You can find in newspaper always have those news from time to time and also news of patients fund raising for sickness and surgery cost. Just equip yourself with knowledge of insurance, keep away from sweets talk agents and get a good protection. This post has been edited by Ryannate: Jul 16 2016, 10:49 AM |

QUOTE(kengyan @ Jul 16 2016, 01:58 PM) Well, looks like the best way to avoid being cheated is avoid buying, correct? Bro, that's a solution for running away from issues or problems but the problems still around as long as you live on earth. For example, a married couple with or without kids, then just because of some problems, then they chosen to divorce happily, but with kids, more problems come in, without kids, then will divorce again and having married problem as do not solved the problems when you can.1. Well, indeed no human are saint in this world, but most insurance are devil. 2. you already out of topic, relating general insurance are totally different to denied medical claim. But still you do point out 1 main point, insurance company has the right to deny a claim. Now watching a TVB drama which talk about this. When people want to buy medical insurance, most agent never ask the people to do medical checkup, just my relatives already 3 fellows got denied because of this. Insurance is just like marriage. Marriage problems, both parties got problems and not one party only. Insurance also the same, you do not do your part, then when claim denied, straight away pin point and blame insurance company. Many Malaysian thought that once engaged an agent means they will kowtim everything for you as their services claimed. If you having this mindset, then you better pray for nothing severe happens. Agent is human and you are nothing special but just a client to them. Come back to your question. If you can manage the risk of your life and health with your wealth , it's good for you because you can skip protection from insurance company. If I have wealth, I surely transfer my health to them, rather of spending my hard earned money for that. Those with less wealth or struggle to survive, I would advise 1000% must get health protection. If not, either end up suffer till death or fund raising advertise in social media and newspaper. Insurance policy, is a contract. The contract is between you and the insurance company and not the agent. This contract stated most thing in black and white. Written can claim, then it means can and vice versa. Medical claim, all depends on doctor reports. Insurance company investigate based on that. Example below:- 1. I did my body checkup and the result said I having some sickness, but I don't tell agent I having that and try to buy medical protection and take advantages on insurance company. After the cooling periods , less say 30 days and activation of my medical protectio on, I straight away go do surgery. Then based on the doctor report or you mentioned you having that since 60 days ago..then the doctor will written it down in their report to submit either to insurance company or their party admission agent. Would it claimable or not? 2. I have diabetics or high blood pressure, but when you apply or buy medical protection, agents never asked you ur health condition and all those forms filled by agent as you request them to assist in filling up those forms. First you don't tell your health condition. Then irresponsible agent, tick 'no' in all the health matters question. Then you try to claim, and insurance company denied to pay or reimburse with a reason of non-disclosure. 3. Let's say you have medical card in your wallet. Oh..it's Friday today, all buddies having drinking session and you joined them having great times together with beers and girls. Ops...shop closing, and all left for home. You also halfway drunk, and you look for your car, and start to drive home. Halfway on the roads, suddenly 'bing bang boom' others cars. Accident happened, everyone injures, ambulance send all to hospital..my question is do medical card cover the claim? Professional are good in provide consultantion. Selling insurance is about life, Sickness and death of humans. Who bear the most responsibility. If linked life with investment, then the question is do insured person or agents concern more on that 3 or money. This post has been edited by Ryannate: Jul 16 2016, 05:14 PM |

QUOTE(kengyan @ Jul 16 2016, 05:12 PM) Good point, I do need to take more time to understand. But GH are always there for poor chap like me. GH is good at some point. If you noticed clearly, government is spending billions for provide cheap cost for good services. They are struggling on that budgets now. They are trying to transfer all this risk or budget cut to insurance company soon. In coming years, you are forced to have a medical card soon as a citizen. I came across on that medical card for foreign workers, I am shaking my heads on the coverage limits.GH, when come to performance, I would think PH are better. If you have a comprehensive medical protection would you go GH. Let's say I am paying 3k yearly for 2 mils annual limits. I pay for 20 years. Suddenly sick and needed a mil for the expenses. Would it worth? 3000 x 20 = 60, 000. Can the 60k cover you after 20 years. Or can you save 3k for 20 years. Even though you can save and more than 2 mils per year. Do you use it for that if you have mitigated your health risk to insurance company. WHich hospital performance is good in dealing with emergency? I have friend died inside ambulance on the way to GH. I found some government hospital's ambulance are not equiped with medical. My friend died in vain. |

QUOTE(kengyan @ Jul 16 2016, 05:40 PM) Well, sadly I'm a true Malaysian, not a foreign worker. I been through the time wasting or I called dragging in GH, but I do enjoy dentist service from UTC. Since I heard that incident I have saved private ambulance number in my hp now. IJN is cheap to those nearby, and headache to those have to travel with planes and time consuming. And when talking on performance, GH is still way better as any thing happen to us, PH will still send us out to GH after we wasted money in PH. Low fatality cases =/= good performance. PH's so-called good performance is because they seldom take emergency cases and when the sickness are serious, they won't accept it. When we dial 999, only goverment's ambulance will come, not private ambulance. And if you were to call private ambulance, you need to pay upfront. Your friend shall have call from private ambulance that time. If talking about medical cost, not much procedure need till rm1M, even heart surgery also can get cheap cost in IJN. Now my knee are having problem and according to a specialist from private hospital, I need to undergo surgery to "recover". After seeking more opinions from GP, GH's doctors, what I need to do is reduce my belly by 10KG which will cure my knee problems direct. That surgery need rm50000 and the reason why that specialist want me to do the surgery is, I need to change that part once every 6 years. From your incident, 2nd opinion is important, then we still have to be rational on decision making. Too bad have to agree that PH is a business now. No money no save. Bro, better cut down your weight...I have a friend facing the same problem, but he succeed in putting down his weight. He is now addicted to cycling..he is slim and happy now. As for myself, I do donate blood every 3 months, so if PH can't save me, I still have GH to save me also in a VIP way. |

QUOTE(mktan78 @ Jul 17 2016, 09:12 PM) @ryannate, thanks for the information on mxm. However, don't you think the outpatient kidney and cancer treatment is quite surprisingly low with 36K and 60K limit (depends on mxm plan) annually. Even my 15 years back medical card oledi having 50K (entry level plan, I bought when graduated and starts working) annual and I find the need to revise with the increasing medical cost in Malaysia. Looking that mxm plan is covering for 100 years and benefit is cast in stone (no alteration guaranteed ), will this plan fits for 100 years to come when mine of 15 years, I already now having the need to revise. Appreciate your indepth knowledge to advise on this game changer medical card on this inquiry. Thanks in advance. I do agree on that outpatient kidney and cancer is low but this is annually. Outpatient means treatment done without admission and overnight in the hospital. I did a survey of kidney dialysis charges at some places within my area, it is still less than the amount per year. I was surprise many NGO provide such services. And for cancer, the worst part is doing chemo, but this can be claimed if stayed a night in the hospital..solved my worries. It's 100 years plan, insurance have no wight to withdraw and do alteration and guaranteed renewal. to clear your doubt or they forgotten to tell you that this is the first plan in the market, which is every 3 years your coverage will be increased by 10%. But for sure soon or later other insurance companies also will follow. That doesn't mean you don't hv to review but at least do assist in some point. You have less worries as Malaysia currency is stable now due to weak USD. Bare in mind, medical protection most important is your room and board and limits. The entry level for MXM is 650k per disability. No more annual and lifetime limits. If that can't save your bill, then how big your outpatient coverage also useless as oledi got stuck at the first step. |
