wonder rd200 is whether same as sli-dr expert since both boards layout is almost identical.
well, I just want to correct what mnemonic_80 said. Orange for TCCD, yellow for BH5 only applied to NF4 ultra-d/sli-d/sli-dr, but not to Expert and Venus. if you put BH5 into yellow slot on Expert and go oc it, even a bit, you'll notice something during loading windows. |

Gsan, sorry for my noob question, but why is it so? (i mean the orange and yellow thing)
Nothing was stated in the manuals on this. Luckily i saw this, if not i would think it's the ram fault. |

QUOTE(@meno @ Dec 15 2006, 03:25 AM) Gsan, sorry for my noob question, but why is it so? (i mean the orange and yellow thing) actually, for nf4 non expert or venus, both yellow or orange slot work fine for tccd & bh5, but bh5 on orange and tccd on yellow can be overclocked better.Nothing was stated in the manuals on this. Luckily i saw this, if not i would think it's the ram fault. but for expert (not sure about venus), you cant overclock well if you put bh5 on yellow slot. |

Just tested booting my Ultra-d for the 1st time.
Used Kingston KVR to test, and it would not even boot on the yellow slot, but on the orange slot, it works. Btw, i don't know what chips r those kingstons running on as they run on kingston rebranded chips. |

I cannot say that every dfi nf4 also act weird like what I experienced, but what I noticed was I used ultra-d rev.AD0 and rev.AE1, sli-dr expert, all have the same problem. I owned 4 BH5s and 2 BH6s, when I installed in the same yellow slot, sometime it can boot easily, sometime cannot, even I tried till wanna give up also like that, but at last can booting up (thanks to my patient |

QUOTE(ncool15 @ Dec 13 2006, 10:36 AM) The RDX200 board is the worst board ever manufactured by DFI.Flashing bios is a must for DFI boards. Dude, don't simply shoot DFI like that lah.Have you tested out the RDX200 yet? Well, tell you something... although the board has some issues, I find this board pretty stable for me as I've been running it at 312HTT for almost a year now. My Opty is clocked to 2.8GHz and I have 2x1GB of Corsair XMS 4400PRO running at 255MHz 1T. All this is in my work rig and it runs 24/7... Heck, I even ran SLI on this CrossFire motherboard. And for the record, the board was not modded whatsoever. As for the thread starter, I can tell you that this board is a little picky with certian TCCDs. I had some issues trying to get TeamGroup modules to do 250MHz on this board... so it could be the modules. However, my Corsair 2x256MB TCCD works great with this board and I can clock the ram to 291MHz at 2.5-4-4-8-1T... and all this was Prime Stable for a full 20hours. FYI, I'm on BIOS dated 12/23/2005. Also, try playing with the drive strenghts. Although the CFX3200 is the ultimate s939 board, the RDX200 is just slightly below the elder brother. Edit: ncool15, FYI my colleague (MetalZone) has an Ultra-D, which is same as SLI-D or SLI-DR (not Expert), and he could actually boot in Yellow slots. There's even some users having better stability/OC on yellow slots. This is totally depends on the CPU and RAM, as the mem ctrl is on the CPU. So, next time please get your facts right and don't call others with such harsh words. This is a public forum, and seeing you post like that shows who's "the real n00b". Better edit your post before you get warned by the mods or admin. This post has been edited by pcmoddingmy: Dec 21 2006, 08:42 PM |
