QUOTE(ASSKICKERr @ Dec 27 2015, 04:05 AM) seems like your are into a little bit of gaming because you are leaning towards the 950m and 960well there alone is your answer because 950 is sort of an entry level gaming card plus HP and Delll are designed to game as well as fry an egg on it thats how hot they get during gaming ive used the nitro. it does get a little hot aswell but mainly due to its ultrabook design and constraints |

base on the spec u list, dell is way better in CPU, GPU, RAM...
Which ever model u choose, upgrade to SSD will suddenly make ur notebook 100% faster lol be careful, some brand might void warranty... see Dell allows u to change HD in their configurator |

Dell - partly because they have a service manual available for end users which can be used to repair machines without paying a lot to the manufacturer.

QUOTE(AthrunIJ @ Dec 27 2015, 12:07 AM) Brother or sister, RAM has already pass the age where faster isnt gonna get you better gaming performances. DDR3 and DDR4 differs in clockrate which you are not going to see much difference when you game. Agreed on that part, and to further reinforce the point Dell has been pretty nice with self repaired machines (there are even manuals supplied by them on how to service your machine).I see that you did your research which i will give kudos to you. Using the Acer to play high settings will pretty much depends on what game. Older game sure, newer games maybe because 950M is an entry level card (for me) while 960M is entry level gaming card (if it makes sense. Bottomline is this Better spec is Dell with one of the best after sale services and good cooling and best self maintenance laptop in the market. This is my view the Acer i presume the newer model doesnt seem to be able to handle the heat very well because it is damn thin (it might throttle the speed thus negatively affect gaming experience) and its after sale services is bad compared to Dell. If you have time, type in the model of the laptop and add in notebookcheck and see for yourself. Example dell 7559 notebookcheck and nitro notebookcheck to see. As long as you don't try to mess up your laptop when servicing... |

QUOTE(ASSKICKERr @ Dec 26 2015, 11:41 PM) Acer v nitro It's also worth mentioning that the Acer has a dual core, quad threaded chip (similar to desktop i3s), whereas the Dell has a quad core, quad threaded chip (similar to desktop i5s). Intel Core i5-6200U Dual-core 2.30 GHz 39.6 cm (15.6") Full HD (1920 x 1080) 16:9 IPS NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 950M with 4 GB DDR3 VRAM 4 GB, DDR4 SDRAM 1 TB HDD Rm 3k Or Dell inspiron 7559 Intel® Core™ i5-6300HQ Processor - 2.3GHz, 6MB cache - Display 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) Anti-Glare LED-Backlit Display - NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 960M 4GB GDDR5 - 4GB Single Channel DDR3L 1600MHz (4GBx1) - 1TB (5400rpm) HDD rm 3.4k Not to mention that the 6200U in the Acer is a low voltage chip which trades off performance for longer battery life, unlike the Dell which has a standard, performance-oriented chip. The CPU difference alone are already worth it. |

I prefer to buy dell because service is good. Specification which you have chosen is middle range with decent gaming and decent overall performance.

Agree with Dell, I got myself a 7559 too. That extra RM400 on better non-upgradable CPU and GPU is very much worth the money.
