Hopefully the lads will prove to us tonight that Southampton was a freak result.

What a funky lineup by Wenger.

Chambers..........I can only pray............

P/S - Spurs has beaten Watford away. They are really getting too close for comfort now.

ok la Spurs getting closer. They'll push us. They can climb up, we'd still finish above them. Maybe if they manage to climb to 2nd, u should know who is on the top. brows.gif

Well that is the usual and ordinary. But we all know that this year is out of the ordinary so don't rule them out.

Ozil must be damn pissed with the shitty strikers around him or he would've broken the assist record by now

A draw would be the best result but I won't mind Leicester winning. I still view City as a bigger threat to the title and we seem to almost always bottle under pressure.

We saw against pool how ordinary they looked when Mahrez and Vardy aren't firing on all cylinders.

And we all know that a bad spell at some point of the season is inevitable. Just a matter of when the wheels will start to fall off. Vardy is sort of like in the midst of a mini goal draught already.

A pretty good article on Elneny is up on Soccernet. We could potentially have a gem on our hands assuming the transfer goes through.

At this point with our injury list any midfield reinforcements are welcomed..... sweat.gif

Reports saying Debuchy has handed in a transfer request.

So its either:

1. We buy another RB, like how we brought Nacho in as backup to Gibbs at that point in time.
2. Recall Jenkinson (which is highly unlikely)
3. Chambers to backup two positions, RB and DM.

I'd be absolutely pissed if Arsene goes with option 3.

Then we would need a new RB if Debuchy leaves. Chambers is hopeless as an RB due to his lack of speed.

Any pub winger would be able to skin him alive.

too bad wenger allow him to leave us .. cry.gif

Wouldn't bat an eyelid if he leaves. Good keeper but not spectacular. Was only ever gonna be good enough to be a No. 2.

And with Sczezsny returning, its the Pole over Ospina for me any day.

But I'd prefer for him to leave at the end of the season.

I find it a real concern that we are letting everyone who wants to leave, leave with still half a season to go. Which is a long way more.

First Debuchy and now Ospina. *Touch wood* what if we sell them then Bellerin and Cech gets injured? Then what?

We always can recall back Szczesny or Martinez if Ospina really go. Szczesny loaned out to different league so will not restrict to play for us this season. It just if he willing to stay at bench after being no.1 at Roma. Some kind of cruelty to Roma too bcoz they then suddenly need to find his replacement in January.
Perhaps it is the best decision to bring back Martinez. He is not starter in 1st 11 nor in bench for Wolves, he is their 3rd GK.
Or perhaps if Wenger sees Macey have better quality n more ready than Martinez then it is decided Macey is enough as Cech's backup.
Macey is our 5th in the rank.

1st - Cech
2nd - Ospina
3rd - Szczesny (loan-AS Roma no.1 GK atm)
4th - Martinez (loan-Wolves 3rd GK! wth not even on bench when u could hv better chance to get on bench for us!)
5th - Macey
*
The thing is anyone can fill in for Cech or Bellerin. Problem is are we able to replace them with someone of decent quality, someone that has the pedigree for the title run in.

I wouldn't put my money if its gonna be Macey/Martinez or Chambers coming in for both Cech and Bellerin if they get injured.

Debuchy has been pretty poor when he has played so far but given how little football he has had before being thrusted into those big games must have been difficult. At least we know he is a pretty solid RB on his day and he would only get better given more game time. Ospina as well, at least has the experience and is of decent quality as a deputy.

All we remember about Chambers being an RB is him getting raped time and time again against virtually EVERY winger he has played against. We may be able to escape a couple of games but there is bound to be games where this lack of quality will inevitably haunt us. Same goes for Macey/Martinez, untested. Do you want to risk being stuck with uncertainty for the duration he is between the sticks? What if they are unable to cope and the window is already shut?

Not saying they are shit though. Good players with potential but at the moment given the position we are in, we just can't afford to gamble with potential and hope it works.

Damn useless la Watford. Last week against spuds and this week against City. Always throw away their good work throughout the match in a matter of minutes.

Good signs all round for you gunners. Mark of a champion is ability to grind out wins while playing badly.

Lol then City look more like Champions instead of us.

Last night was the only game in recent memory in which we have played really badly and won. The rest were all draws and defeats.

City has done it for the umpteenth time against Watford this year.

For the stat lovers, Elneny in comparison to Coq in key areas so far this season. Well of course we can't go by anything given the Swiss league is about as good as a piece of turd but his numbers look decent, especially his passing stats. Major plus if he has the ability to break down play and has the passing range to go with it to spark quick counter attacks after winning possession.
