Hi guys. New here and not sure if this is the appropriate place but I am looking to sell of my AsiaMiles points of about 90-100k.

Any one has experience redeeming air ticket from Asiamile? Does it make a hassle? How long usually the entire process take place? Any tips? Planning to try to redeem for late December or early January ticket to Japan.

I've read many negative comments from other sites regarding their customer service.

I managed to secure a booking for 2 pax on next January and I was advised that there would taxes payable of HKD 855 (specifically for CX on KUL to Kansai). But when i check and try to redeem on the web myself, it shown tax payable of close to 2000 HKD. I am in the midst of trying to call their customer service to clarify if it is HKD 855 for each passenger

It doesn't make much sense to pay close to RM1k and redeem these points, might as well just purchase by cash outright Does this much tax always applies or only for certain flights/route only? I checked for KUL to Seoul also about same tax amount for CX.

I am thinking to purchase my own tickets and save my points for future on destination/route that wont take up so much taxes to pay?
