Asia Miles also update their system which have more selection of airline to choice from.

Example,
Singapore - zero airline.
Now Singapore got at least 3 airline to choice from.

Does it make sense to convert treat point to Asia miles for hotel vouchers?
*
I do claim AM for hotel in Europe for 2 night.

Hotel voucher? More like a booking towards the hotel.
The price can change from time to time.
Keep monitoring then you know.

Make sense? Only if you extra miles to burn.

I will give some sample tax/charges on AM for the rest of your comparisons:

1. Tokyo - RM720
2. New York / LA - RM1347
3. Milan - RM1210
4. Paris - RM1517
5. London - RM2086
6. Sydney - RM1433

I would say this comparison is the absolute basic usage for the Frequent Flyer program, as you can get even better value when you look at other aspects of the programs, such as partner redemption etc, for example:

1. you can use KF miles to fly to Dubai at 49k, then spend another 29k on star alliance flights to europe, it is cheaper than outright redemption on SQ to europe, with a stopover (currently there is promotion flying to dubai for only 34k) but with a bit more taxes.

2. For AM, you would not redeem CX to fly to Australia as that is taking the long way. You could just outright redeem MH or even QF flights with less miles and shorter travel time.

3. If you look at Multi carrier award redemption for Asiamiles, you may get some seriously outsized value. for example flying to NYC cost 170k miles, if you use MCA, it will cost 165k miles, and you can take some extra flights up to 20000 miles total travel distance, eg you can go via hong kong with cx and return with AA + JL with a stop at Hawaii and Tokyo

So my conclusion is use KF miles if you want to fly SQ, because redeeming on other partners (with the exception on some routes) will cost you as much taxes as they did on AM. I find AM generally gives better value and flexibility, unless Im fixated on flying SQ suites.

Thanks for sharing, I already dump all point into AM.

Just curious how does the multi carrier award redemption work? I don't see it redeemable on Asiamiles/CX website. Does one need to get in touch with the CX call center to redeem multi carrier award?
*
multi carrier award using
Asia Miles website (limited option)
through website form.
best is call them and speak to them using English.

example as below,

Apologies for asking a really dumb question... I've never redeemed KF before and now getting cold feet about whether I should convert all my TPs to KF or EN, as I'm nervous about KF's waitlist system.

How long does KF normally waitlist for? I'm considering redeeming 3 economy flights to Amsterdam in December, which are all waitlisted.  Is the waiting time normally weeks or months?  And if I book 3 tickets, will they all be waitlisted together, or separately (i.e. can I end up in a situation where 2 tickets are confirmed, but 1 can't make it)? Sorry for my very silly questions.

If the waitlist is too unpredictable, I'm thinking to redeem all TPs to Enrich for convenience (i.e. direct flights from KL, no waitlist). Thanks in advance.
*
My previous redeem trip using KF is confirm one trip then another trip is on waiting list (going to euro in waiting list, return to SG had confirm).

Then I start playing with another date (going to euro), keep changing and wait for week.

finally less than a month of trying I get the confirmation(going to euro) 3 month before the flight. Again, my return to SG had confirm early.

Meaning your return date is confirmed at date A.
And then you play around the go date and get confirmation. So this mean it will either make your trip longer or shorter right? Since your return date is fixed.
And both go and return trip that you get immediate confirmation after you try and error, is for saver?
The flight is what year’s version of j class?
*
yes, return date confirm, but i still can cancel since both flight is not confirm.

I actual plan in December, since cant confirm date on both time and weather super cold, i change to March.

so the best way is to redeem star alliance which don't need to waitlist, subject to availability. If available, can get direct confirmation.

but the surcharge is huge, that's the negative part of it.

Right?
how long they allow you to drag to confirm taking the return flight?
*
how long can drag?
mine is 2 part, my case first part not confirm (go to euro flight) I can drag until they confirm the first part.

my second part (return flight) is immediately confirm.

Planning a trip to osaka On AM

KUL - HK , HK - ITM , KIX-KUL

submitted a redemption form,

1.anyone can advise what better method for asiamiles to secure my flight. or is there any other transferrable platform i can use

2. for KIX - KUL, is it advisable to choose MAS for it? (does the miles redemption is the same as enrich)

3. Any tips on saving the milleages, ie better booking through choosing airlines or routes.

Thank u
*
For AM,
best is confirm your flight number that you want to take, and available seat.
Call AM regarding the redemption, pay the airport charges.

Using form will take longer time, which might end up in the ocean.

Then everyone in Malaysia will follow that.
