I briefly went through the t&c of MACH Visa Signature and there is no mentioned of exclusion on reward pts for petrol / gov transactions. Maybe will be worthwhile to call for clarification if you are interested. QUOTE(Jack128 @ Nov 2 2016, 12:12 PM) Oh no additional miles needed for KL-SIN and back? OK now that is worth a second thought. But I am scared off by others who experienced much difficulty in redeeming award seats on business class. it is difficult for hot long haul route, like US, London and etc. I am looking at redeeming Hkg-Sin and on most of the weekdays I can secure 4 business class seats immediately. I use HK as an example, the miles is the same for Hkg-sin or Hkg-sin-kul. difference is the tax required but trust me it is cheap to pay for a business class seat. then it will be difficult.
put it this way, SQ redemption is so popular thanks to foreign site thus you are not only fighting among Asian but Western as well for redemption thus you might need to be creative to redeem. I think a few hours is not so bad just that you don't sleep on it. Plus the miles are so much more reasonable compared to MH (Hkg for example on SQ business class is only 23,375 miles one way after 15% discount)
I have not seen miles promotion from SQ, maybe some of the guys here can share as I only start paying attention to SQ over the last one year. Good thing SQ still offer 15% discount if you redeem online.

yes I started that page, hopefully I may start working on my own site within next couple of months. If any of you think that you don't mind writing about redemption tips or flight review as a hobby maybe we can work something out. I learned the redemption trick from the legendary captain GenX when he shared extensively for Enrich Miles redemption. Of course also from members around here that share the tricks of redemption. I started collecting TP with Maybank about 1 year after I started working and am glad I did that because 5 years later now I have about half a million miles ready for redemptions although so far i've only managed to redeem a business class ticket once with MH to Japan. I have HK-SIN and perhaps AKL-SIN with SQ in the pipeline for first half of 2017. Maybe something for christmas if some exciting promo pops up but most of the time I am just a cheapo in a very tight AA seat Also looking forward to redeem multi-carrier award ticket with Asia Miles when a suitable schedule comes up. Then maybe I should start looking at first class seats, that is if I still have the miles. This post has been edited by bearbear: Nov 3 2016, 12:43 PM

sadly I have 100+k in Enrich, mostly from sign up bonus, redemption through parents (CIMB only convert to Enrich), fly with them or more recently flew with KLM/AF and I only have Enrich which is their partner. How I wish I can transfer these to SQ for my upcoming redemptions.
Some 30k with KF which are directly credited by AMEX
balance are in form of credit cards point

cimb yes, they wanted a vacuum that has the same value of 27k Enrich Miles. I bought them the same vacuum (RM400) in exchange. and yes the CC was under my parents name but transfer to enrich under my name.
Asia Miles ask for 30k miles hkg-sin, SQ ask for only 23k on the same route.
no experience redeeming US flights, something I plan to do with Asia Miles multi-carrier award.

guys what is the maximum period allowed by Asia Miles on their multi carrier award ticket?
since I have hkg (feb) and akl (may) planned, wonder if I can add on another trip in dec as one redemption.
Below schedule workable?
feb hkg-sin (cx) may syd-sin (qf/ba) dec sin-hnd (jal) dec hnd-gum (jal) dec gum-hnd-hkg (jal)
I choose syd-sin rather than from nz to reduce the miles.

QUOTE(ic no 851025071234 @ Nov 4 2016, 03:12 PM) All flights from Singapore difficult la. Means I need buy a ticket to sg to use the redeemflight you can depart from kul and usually the miles required stays the same. if there is a will, there is a way. QUOTE(limeuu @ Nov 4 2016, 01:10 PM) I am puzzled...why are you booking mostly one way sectors?.... sin to hkg on budget is cheap and I have booked it. similarly I can get to akl through AA as I am due to be in KL for 2 days before the trip for family commitment. Also the trip has maximized the 5 stopovers. I am more concern with how soon we need to complete to "trip" as my plan spread over 10 months This post has been edited by bearbear: Nov 4 2016, 03:36 PM

problem with departing from kl is their flight will not have PE class and somehow krisflyer will not process such booking (when u try searching PE on a flight without PE cabin, it will show error and simply would not proceed)

Is JL usually been so generous?
of like 10 dates i sample (nearest been before Xmas SIN-HND) and furthest in Oct 2017, J seats are wide open for redemption. Will this also be the case when you try to book with Asia Miles Multi carrer award?

sq other than hkg I dont see any other "cheap" yq unless you willing to ex Philippines and transit in Sin for other part of the world. Usually departing frimom changi cost sgd200 - 300 range.
I play around with JL mileage bank.
sin-hnd 2850 yen nrt-gum 3640 yen gum-nrt-hkg 3500 yen
quite resonable to me, you can sign up online and play with it.

QUOTE(limeuu @ Nov 5 2016, 03:00 PM) Looks like to nrt/hnd, mh may still be a reasonable option, since no yq.... Others can consider sq and others... Reasonable? JL return 80k miles + RM 200 (789) MH return 110k miles + RM173 (333) more reason to ditch MH note that these 787-9 from JL are brand new and come with their new business class product. Service from japanese cannot be worse than MH. lol btw it's good you point this out, because from SIN its either 763 or 772. i will consider departing from KL then. Nice to accelerate your miles collection. I just signed up 3 accounts and max i got was 35%. I assumed that you managed to buy 60k starpoints at USD1,050 = 75k miles 10k miles = USD140 = SGD200 to think that i decided to waive my credit card annual fee of SGD 192 ( i get 10k miles for paying) is quite stupid then This post has been edited by bearbear: Nov 6 2016, 11:04 AM

well if you insist to go from KUL to oz, then it will be just MH. Is emirates flying into syd or mel through KUL? perhaps worth checking?
Singapore is slightly better, qantas still operate these route. I saw a BA flight for sin-melb the other day when I had a look at option.

the on going 10% extra mile promo has an award for member with the most converted enrich miles due to their sponsorship with Liverpool FC. return economy ticket kul - london, return economy ticket london - liverpool, one night accommodation in London and Liverpool respectively and ground transport included. Funny thing is that only thing missing and probably not the easiest ticket to grab is the match ticket.
