anyone has opinion or used philips 55" PUT6800 model?
considering sharp 58" 630x or this philips. plus side for philips is more hdmi and connection ports and cheaper downside is 3" smaller |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jun 4 2016, 10:17 PM) this one? yes, this. http://www.mea.philips.com/c-p/55PUT6800_5.../specifications never checked this tv, but from the specs... 4 hdmi, 3 usb = same as sharp ue630x. android os = same. but it says android 8gb memory expandable with usb - this may be useful for heavy android apps user. my suggestion would be to trust yr eyes and wallet. the 2 together will give u the answer. my gut feeling is no wrong to choose sharp 630x, forgoing others like LG,sony and samsung. but my dad likes the philips model put8509 and also this put6800. |

QUOTE(AVFAN @ Jun 4 2016, 10:37 PM) one thing u will like if u have broadband 30mbps or higher. house using maxis 10mb. whether sharp or sony or philips - their 4k tv's come with google android os, currently all of them are lollipop 5.1. this feature is valuable: .. netflix uhd 4k. .. youtube with 4k 2160p videos. .. can install your own apps - the most powerful one is KODI: https://forum.lowyat.net/topic/3943906 with KODI, it opens up a whole new dimension - int'l news, sports, movies, etc. in hd too. if new to kodi, do get to it if u buy an android os tv. no need for any box! actually most of the time it will be on astro, family watch. current one was LCD 42" bought in 2008, if i wanted to change now it will be straight to 4k. |

58" sharp 630x delivered today
now i understand that the KODI you all have been mentioning is used to be XBMC. i used that with rasperry pi since 2 years back playing movies in living room stream from my pc. btw, i use external speaker connected via 3.5mm cable. even so the built-in speaker still plays eh? but when its in smart mode (kodi or youtube) external speaker has no sound, need to turn on the built in speaker volume. is there anyway to disable built in once audio-out is connected? |

QUOTE(dc89 @ Jun 6 2016, 11:21 PM) click on device > then click on device again...from there you can set the audio output options (take me quite awhile to discover thisĀ thanks dc, change audio output to variable. built in disabled.btw, youtube is still on version 1.0.5.4. no options for video quality like previously discussed. on smart mode, settings > about > system update is at version 5.1. cant find any newer update. on tv setup, no option to update anything. how do you solve this?
