Necroing thread because I went with a new type of 8mm laminate floor product. It was more expensive than the SPC that I was originally looking for but the core is made from charcoal fibre + bamboo fibre. So chose it because after numerous threads of seeing SPC from other users having issues a few years down the line.

The salesman guaranteed us it was waterproof and even threw in a free upgrade to EVA underlay. Had a sample soaking in water for a week to show us. Price was RM11.90/sqft but we decided on RM14.90/sqft which included the concrete leveling to be done by them. Hopefully it will last.

Remove old style parquet floor to do levelling. About 660sqft in total excluding the stairs which were RM180/step
