Hey Sifus here I'm planning to purchase the Mercedes A250 in 2016, planning to buy second hand or recon for this car as I feel buying a new car is not really worth it. Would just like to check a few things with you, how much is the service for this car? and is it 15,000 km per service? Anyone who owns this car don't mind sharing your experience with me. Thanks a bunch!

QUOTE(SKYjack @ Dec 16 2015, 02:43 PM) I am also looking seriously at E250 coupe. Same engine as yours,M271. So far what I've researched, the engine is well built and reliable. However there are timing chain issues. I feel it may start from the tensioner which appears to be problematic around 120-140kkm. Parts are very expensive. Each service is also expensive, roughly $800 - $1000, for normal service. Have you found any Merc workshops? Hey there Not yet, as I'm still particularly new at this, no one in my family owns a Mercs therefore I'm not sure where to ask around as well. Guess this will be a good place for information. If I get the A250 recon I do not have to go to any Mercs service centre right? Just have to go to an independent workshop?

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Dec 16 2015, 03:44 PM) What you have pictured is not the A250. The A250 is plain and boring. What you think you want based on the picture that you have put up is the AMG GLA45. That is a totally different beast from the A250. The price difference is also heaven and earth in difference. Hey there That is an A250, just that guy adding a lot of customisation into it. You can take a look at his FB page below https://www.facebook.com/A250my/?flyingspaghettimonster=ts&fref=tsHe showed what parts he installed and where to get them to make his car look like that, very interesting, should check it out.

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Dec 16 2015, 04:59 PM) So now it is all looks an no go.. practically turned it into an 'Ah Beng' car. I expected no less than a GLA45 if one were to have that rear spoiler. That's like people modding the Lancer/Inspira with the EVO bodykit. The GLA45 is a true monster. This one is just a wannabe... haha bro, everyone has different preferences for car, for me taking the a250 and adding a few mods could be fun. but anyway this page was to discuss about the a250 maintenance. so if i buy the recon a250, i just have to go the an independent mercedes workshop is fine? and normally whats the cost of service and all?

QUOTE(sleepwalker @ Dec 16 2015, 05:37 PM) Why do you need to go to proper Merc service center when you have no warranty with them? There are few continental independant service centres you can go to that has the equipment to service and check for issues on modern day cars. That being said, their numbers are rather limited since not every tom, dick and harry service center has the equipment to do so. thanks for the info bro. Judging from your previous posts i believe you have a good experience with car. For purchasing recon cars, I do not have any contact that would be able to recommend me. Normally what are the steps or procedures when purchasing a recon car, all I did was research online on carlist, oto, all those website. But there are so many choices not sure which to choose from.

QUOTE(Mengs19 @ Dec 17 2015, 01:14 AM) Hi, The pix attached is from my A class member. In fact, he is selling the car. Upgrading to new A45. A class every service is 12,000 and it cost around 1.3k onwards. I got no complain about the car so far. Do not compare comfort with C or E class but no doubt about performance. Hope this will help u. Cheers! Hey there Thanks so much for the info. I'm assuming that you are driving an A250 yourself as well. Would you recommend a new car or recon car with around 10,000 - 15,000km would be fine?

QUOTE(RachelBaby @ Dec 17 2015, 11:05 AM) Hi there, from ur previous comment, clearly u dont even know how to diff an A250 from other A.. Let me tell you ahh, how to diff an A class the easiest is from the rims then the front grill.. From this statement u made that moded A250 looks like ah beng car.. this ah beng car u claimed it is has gotten a respect from almost all A class members in Malaysia.. if ure a follower to AClubMalaysia's instagram, u would be able to read alot of nice positive preview about how much effort the owner has put in.. to date, ive yet to see a better looking A250 than this one.. If i were to be given another chance to choose between A250 or GLA45, once more, i would go for the A250 if i cant settle for a A45.. WAIT, u do know that A45 existed right? No doubt, GLA45 is a beast.. Interior exterior performance, tiptop.. But if u see it again, its like a mini SUV-sportcar wanna be.. From the weight of the car to the size of it.. you just cant compare things that are from diff range.. Hey there I do agree with you, I'm a follower of the AClubMalaysia FB page and Instagram page as well as the MyA250 FB page as well, the amount of effort and detail that the guy has put into his car is really unimaginable and his car looks really really good. He is also selling his car for around RM190k, but the car is in Miri though. I was thinking of getting an A250 myself and maybe just follow some of his mods to make the car look better.

QUOTE(Mamapapamsia @ Dec 21 2015, 07:23 PM) I am driving A250 bro. Service at Cycle and Carriage is very pricey. Normal service change oil and oil filter is min rm1k. Its every 12k interval. Performance is not too shabby. Its fast and has more power than u will ever need. Gearbox is a letdown. Its slow and nowhr as good as a DSG or BMW ZF gearbox. Suspension is rock hard. So make sure u can tahan the bumpiness. Trust me, u wont need an A45. A250 is more than enough . Its an A250 laaaaa. Thats my car club member in Sarawak. He modded his car kaokao. Hey man Thanks for the feedback, drove my friend's A250 on the MEX highway, seriously the performance is really good, but i only drove it once so can't really commend much, but thanks for the feedback again.
