Some of us just prefer the original looks instead of a copied one, no matter how good it looks.

I drove GT86 before i add A into the family.. still keeping them and im happy with both to be honest.. but stock GT86 has no power at all.. no way it can compete w something bigger than the A250 sport.. we have to turbocharge it, change the suspension etc etc so it can be as good as the A250, if not better.. nothing to be very proud of an 86 or an A until one need to insult how ones car look like.. like he say, everyone has their own pref in their book.. so this is his and mine.. its not very nice to say ppls car is UGLY after they have put so much effort on it.. if one is a car lover, regardless what car ppl driving, they will respect it.. even if its saga-subaru wanna be or kancil-suzuki swift wanna be.. one can tell or share their opinions, but it can be done in a proper mannered way, i believe..

So far what I have learnt from them is, well example:

a Non-M F30 3 series with the M-Sport bodykit+M-Performance aero kit = Acceptable cause it's as intended. Sometimes it's borderline RICER when there are too much aftermarket stuffs.

This is exactly like the AMG sports package for their regular car, it is just the manufacturer trying to milk some money from their popular racing/performance division. And why not? Customers likes them anyway so they are just doing a very good marketing. The AMG badges/kits does look sweet on a regular MB car! Do they deserve the AMG or M tagline? Certainly so, as the parts are indeed designed by the AMG or M. Just not the car itself. lol

a Non-M F30, no matter with what exterior mod, a M/M3/M4 badge is at the trunk lid = OMGLULZ POSER. Well, I guess there are just people like to slap whatever badges they could find on their car.

Personally, anything OEM that is INTENDED for a particular car is fine. But as soon as you slap something on it that isn't meant to, that's too much for me and probably a lot of other car lovers out there. But then again theirs car, so nothing to do with me. Just felt pitiful for the car itself.

Haha. I think many people don't realize how the GT86 is actually manufactured and designed inside out by Subaru. Perhaps @sleepwalker can enlighten me again, is there anything actually Toyota about the GT86 aside from the badge?

And given Subaru's technical expertise, if Toyota wanted something that matches the A250 - it really wouldn't have been a problem at all.

When you say '(turbocharging) will.change the entire dynamics of the car', are you imagining Wataru's 290HP AE86 butt-kick turbo lag? Mass produced turbos these days are cheaper to manufacture than before and can be tuned to give minimal lag thus providing that instantaneous response NA drivers shout about.

Exactly why I say, objectively, the designers went the wrong way with this 'underpowered' NA by not embracing turbo technology into the GT86

IF SDAC brings it in, and thats a big IF, they have to be out of their mind to price it more expensive than the Golf R.

I've seen so many Golf GTI, Golf R and Polo GTI on the road, but I've only ever saw one Focus ST and one Fiesta ST. Heck, I've encountered more 2015 WRX than that (including a particularly memorable one with a car plate W473R      ).

It would be a damn miracle if SDAC even consider bringing in the RS.
