M271(Non cgi) Due to design and material problem, the gears will makan.
M271(CGI version) Improved, this time wont makan. But will make a rough sound on start, and causes hard to start at times.
M272 (CGI or not) Balancer shaft makan. Engine power lost, rough idling.

TLDR:All new engines have problems. M272 is cheaper to maintain(on engine side), but it will come with 7g which you dont want.

Imo, just buy any turbo charged 4 cylinder with the 5 speed, then can go vroom vroom liao. *Since now they got repair kits for the turbo white smoke issue.*
All car makes will be problematic. depends on your luck. The new W222 is already visiting MB for malfunctions here and there.
