i've just bought a used Winfast A6800XT at RM340. The stock speed is 300/700 and 8pl/4vs, 3Dmark03 just 68xx which is pretty low. So i try to unlock it with rivatuner and wow i found out it can do 16pl 6vertex shader without giving artifact in 3Dmark.

This really make me happy, then i try to run 3Dmark03 again i got 11482. Does anyone know is this mark close to any 6800GT or ultra ?

You are lucky mate~! I bought a 6800XT before... Can't fully unlock all the pipelines cause they give me artifacts... Can't find a comparison for 3DMark03, but there is one for 3DMark05 here at Tomshardware:

Yeah thats great value, especially with all the pipes unlock. I've similar success with a 6600LE back then, fully unlocked and got it clocked at 420MHz core with 950MHz 2.2ns memory, its a Gainward btw.

Congrats, its really hard to find a 6800 that can fully unlocked nowadays

What he mean is unlock all pipes is the same as getting a 6800GT. Why don't you get that ?

About that, probably yours is 1.3V, first save your BIOS to a file (video BIOS that is, use nvflash ....something of a rather) use nibitor and upped the voltage to 1.4V and flash the new BIOS using nvflash (you need bootable floppy for this). Don't ask me how to flash, I forget about it a long time ago. Google for it and you might get the answer

dint manage to up mine to 16/6 though. it wouldnt boot into windows after that. managed to up it to 12/5. will try to run some benchies and see if there is a big improvement

Hehe. Results not so impressive though. managed to unlock it to 12/6. Ran 3DMark03, original at 8/4 was 7000. After up to 12/6 went up to 8480. Nothing like what warrior is getting with 16pipelines. I wonder what processor speed he's running though.

AFAIK, X1600pro can't be unlock.

u can oc ur card but i dunno how far u can oc la coz every card are not the same, u must try it by urself and on ur risk!

GS is better than XT for Nvidia gc not like ATI

2 main reasons y the the pipelines was lock.

1. the pipelines is faulty

2. to sell it as lower end product although the all the pipelines are good

for latest product now a day ATI and nvidia use laser cut to disable the pipeline that's y it can't be unlocked

So i able 2 do is can OC 2 things (GPU & MEM), rite? Does HIs able to help to cool down the GPU after i OC it?

x1600pro should come with a temp sensor...

when u oc it pls take a look for the temp also, if it is not too high then ok la~

u can see the temp from Nvidia control panel, atitool or rivatuner. download one of that and you can obtain the temp.

galaxy 7300GT is can perform better if u can OC it high and stable....
u can see in the overclocking database the result of user that use the 7300GT...
i before this used it also....i change my GC coz i have a good offer to trade....
but...7300GT is the best GC for money can buy....

here my 6800XT mod to ultra result that i use before...just benchmark for 12pp 5v for....
at 16pp 6v i dont have the shot....

this is result at default clock. ....just increase the pipeline & the vertex.....
BTW.....urs is GS....and GS is better then XT in nvidia....correct me if i'm wrong.....
GS should get more then XT....

dun think u can unlock any pipe in 68gs.

Yaya the GS series can't be unlocked one. By right the GS is better than XT.One is 128bits and other is 256bits memory interface.THis would be much difference in terms of performance.

BTW...changing the GC name has no effect in the performance....just do it for fun....

uh..those are PCIE cards..mine is the AGP version and mine's only 128mb GDDR3 and 128bit

but u can set it back to default....no prob.....

i m using HIS ati x1600pro AGP, however the driver did not support the temp n the fan. So i hv download rivaltuner n ati tool but still no luck. Nviad can display the temp for my card? so where i can download?Any recommend?

need to test how long one... 3 mins edi no error found...
but temp like quite high can go up to 65 -.-

Run 3d mark 03 and see if you find any weird stuff.

i test artifacts wit 16/6 wit default core and memory speed tested ok....
but after i overclock core and memory found artifacts... -.-

later test 3dmark see how -.-

Thats means your card doesn't have temperature sensor so theres nothing to display. Some card doesn't have thermal sensor built on it, theres nothing you can do about it unless you buy new cards. If yours is the IceQ version so theres nothing to be worry of, the card is cool enough.

So even if i oc my GC (to the max) it will be able to cool it too?

there is no specific limit to how much a certain card can OC

it is all exprience because each card is different as well as the whole system as well

you limit reach is due to several factors

1. heat - get a better hsf to lower the temp
2. psu - oc - ing does put a little strain on the whole system, not enuff juice can cause system down.
3. try voltmodding - this will improve the max OC-ing , but require good PSUs

yeah...take note about that all.....

3D mark score won't be increased if there's no framerate improvement and how much significant is actually depend on the game and resolution u put.
So the answer is yes, the framerate does increase.

i'm using the Nvidia 6800 plain version 256mb ddr 256bit 12p/5v
