Do you know what happens after the 28 months? I couldn't find any info on their website for extended validity.
The statements below is based on the assumption that the intended user is a passive user (one who requires a line for receiving calls with minimum out calls/sms/data).

XOX offers the same 28 months validity plus the option for 1 year extended validity @ RM25 (no further topup required).

OneXOX does not have 1year extended validity option. The only way to extend after the 28 months is by reloading (and also user-get-user can work too but what if all your referrals are also passive user? ). Another way is to mnp out to another and back in the next day ..... smile.gif

It is impossible to reach the 28 months validity/ expired bcos the validity will be extended with every topup.
On the contrary, it is very much possible to have the 28 moths validity expires by way of :

1. Parking a number and forget about it for the next 28 months
2. Passive users who requires a number just for receving call and sms ( mnp to get rm5 preloaded credit and 28 months validity = cheap!)

Doesn't oneXOX promotes maximum savings? The two above is already substantial savings for some ..... smile.gif

Do you know Altel is riding on which backbone ? Digi, Celcom or Maxis ?
.....

As fat16 already mentioned, Altel is on Celcom 2G/3G/4G and in some areas their own 4G.

I'm on Altel purely for data backup and i'm satisfied with it (so far very good). So, I topup exactly RM25 via pinless/easyreload for subscribing 1gb data plan. No need for altel365. The validity for rm25 topup is 45days, subscribing 1gb data plan will extend the validity to 90days (yes, for both credit and data validity).

Best of luck.

Tune Talk looks the best for me since it is mainly for calls backup and if I want data, I can subscribe and it will expire, rather than auto re-subscribe. ........
Altel looks good for data but with the speech SMS and all. It looks funny. Personal perspective.

I believe you may have got it mixed up ...

Altel's data plans does not auto renew. Altel offers only standalone data plans.

Tunetalk's data plans will auto renew. Tunetalk offers both pure data-tatata plans and cun data plans (data+calls+sms).

I'm wondering if the buzzme reward points are redeemed and added to main credit, can it be used to buy data plans ?

I made some calculations about the 3GB smart surf plan. If the 15 reward points is redeemable to main credit then the actual cost for 3GB is way cheaper ..... nod.gif

Command and control will be done through http. Or pushed through email or some other IP protocol.

SMS and call functionality is not important nor required.
Any suggestion?

If 64kbps internet speed is sufficient then Digi Best prepaid 2016 gives 500MB basic internet monthly with SLL 365days validity for RM68.

Another option if you'd like High Speed access would be BuzzMe prepaid. Their data plan has no expiry ie. remaining data balance is valid as long as the account is valid. Also available is 1 year validity at RM38.

If your remote sensing data is constant then either digi or buzzme is fine. If there are data gaps or data scheduling then digi is better recommended bcoz the data counter for digi is at 10KB blocks while buzzme is 1MB blocks.

That would be TRON. Any topup of RM10 ++ gives 365 days validity.

Mlm? Downline? Obviously wrong.
*
Dear adiwarna,

As long as you gain any percentage from your direct customers and indirect customers then it is MLM.

OneXOX is basically a mlm style business but with a positive tone as it is shariah compliant since August 2016.

Before August 2016, I am also in the opinion that OneXOX business model is conventional mlm. Since August 2016, shariah compliance makes OneXOX one of the very few mlm deserving respect for their newly transparent mlm business model. As it is, OneXOX is the first and only shariah compliant telco currently.

For shariah adherence, everything MUST be transparent, no hanky panky, no hidden charges, no hidden terms or conditions. Basically, they become an open book with everything offered can be scrutinized. That's why shariah compliant is a big deal.

There is nothing wrong with mlm style business. The problem may be with the people who became downlines and pushes the business model the wrong way. Fortunately, this is also being addressed by OneXOX indirectly through the use of KPI. So the argument of DA/MA with RM50 monthly topups by downline is a non issue. In reality, I haven't met with a OneXOX prepaid subscriber who claims having to "pump in" RM50 monthly just to appease their upline ever since I "monitored" OneXOX from the sidewalk for the last two years. So, such allegations remains just allegations without proof.

Such is the business model of OneXOX and yet they offer a basic product with good features. OneXOX prepaids offers cheaper calls/sms rates that is in-sync with their intended market segment. Premium sms content blocking is already one great feature that shields their subscribers from missing credits. Stacking and/or extended validity is also great. Competitive IDD rates is another. Definitely it will not attract those who wants big data or unlimited of everything.

From what I heard recently, Celcom as parent MNO was having fits with so many of its subscribers jumping over to OneXOX.

As they say, numbers don't lie. From just less than 400K subsriber base at end of 2014, the combined XOX/OneXOX is now 1.5 million as of August 2016 (and climbing based on the feedback I'm hearing so far). That is 1.1 million new subsribers within a 20 months period. They have just been allocated another two (2) million mobile numbers by SKMM recently. That is impressive for an mvno player.

So, the numbers alone proves OneXOX must be doing something right. Else, why would there be many more joining the fun such as TRONexus ?

1. Correct. TRON is not a public listed MVNO. Only XOX is public listed (BHD).

2. Correct. OneXOX is XOX subsidiary as a separate entity (SDN BHD).

3. Do investors decide based on sentiment or fundamentals ? Their choice. I dont give a damn.

4. Apparently, all telco stocks is not good investment currently.

5. Even Telenor wants to divest their stocks in Digi. Also, STC wants to divest their stocks in Maxis.

So what's the problem ? I don't see any ..... biggrin.gif

Oh please, you are comparing durians to grapes.

Please be clear, after August 2016, in order to be in compliance with shariah requirements, the incentives comes with strings attached as agreed in the akad. This is to remove all syubhah and gharar elements.

If your commission/incentive comes from limited scope like from a single deal then it is not MLM. That is a direct one-time commission.

Right now, your dealer commisions/incentives is perpetual and from multi layer ( 2 tier / 4 tier / 6 tier). That is by definition a MLM.

No need to be nasty here. I stand ready to be corrected by more knowledgeable people.

Thank you.

May I know which package have the cheapest plan now for long validity, as I will only use it as back up phone especially during weekend outdoor activities ? Only for calls/sms and basic whatsapp.
*
Fact 1: The cheapest 1 year validity is TRON whereby a single topup of RM10 will give you 365 days validity.

Fact 2: The cheapest starter pack with longest validity is ONEXOX. Simpack RM10 + reload RM10 = RM20 total cost (to get 28 months initial validity).

Besides just validity, if coverage and call/sms/internet tariffs is to be considered please review the list below and check their respective websites:

1. Altel (celcom infra) : 1 year validity RM28
2. BuzzMe (Umobile infra) : 1 year - RM38
3. ONEXOX (celcom infra) : 1 year RM25
4. TRON (digi infra) : 1 year validity with any RM10 topup
5. Tunetalk (celcom infra) : 1 year validity RM28

im always at oversea, but i need my malaysia number to be active for internet banking usage.
Planning to switch to Tron.. currently with DIGI SLL.
Anyone know how is tron roaming service? worried im not able to receive my banking sms which will be very troublesome...
*
1. If your Digi is not Prepaid Best 2016 then SLL is still available at the moment.

2. TRON does not have international roaming.

3. If international roaming is required, I would use OneXOX for receiving only bank TACs ... If you need to reply to some bank confirmation sms then I would suggest Altel or Tunetalk. All three are using Celcom infra. All three have long validity.

how about friendi? altel and tunetalk need to pay rm 28 to get 365 extended warranty
*
If you're roaming international, receiving sms like banks TAC under normal circumstances you do not get charged. Sending sms or even a 1 sec call when on international roaming can cost quite a bit. So Friendi's 60 days validity may or may not be cost-effective depending on country location/partner.

Besides, what if a sudden last minute hectic schedule makes you forget to extend your validity on that particular day ? I'd say that RM28 is reasonable cost for 365 days of peace-of-mind.

Why OneXOX?

If your place have good celcom coverage then onexox :

1. gives automatic 28 months validity upon successful mnp (1st time only)
2. reasonably low call charges (DA 9 sen / 30 secs block off-net)
3. get even lower call rates with season pass (9 sen / 60 secs block)
4. no pay-per-use data
5. only topup when needed (with stacking validity)
6. 1 year extended validity available

Go over to onexox thread and read up ... biggrin.gif

Thanks for the guide and all the taiko here. I am interested in Tron, so if I just top up RM10, the validity will last 365 days, all the call/sms/data (without pass) will be PAYU deducting from the top up until it finished. Anyone have any idea how much data will be consumed with average usage of Whatsapp? This is for my backup line with occasional usage.
*
Chatting without pics (lite usage) then the data amount is very little, usually less then 100KB per session. Pics and video can use anywhere between 20KB (smallest pic) to 20MB (long videos). To optimize pay-per-use on whatsapp you would want to keep all messaging within one session and be charged 10sen per session / per 1MB block

Hey bro, I'd suggest that you look for onexox dealers nearest to you (within your neighboorhood / town / city / area) and ask everything you need to know before buying anything.

You can also reach out to any of the dealers in the mobile numbers garage sales to find out more.

Hope that helps.
