One more use case scenario would be for GPS trackers. How much are companies charging for one year? About 300-500? Granted that includes their website and database backend.

Updated some use case scenarios. Can you think of more?
  • Kids' or Parents Phone
  • Backup phone
  • Personal GPS Trackers
  • Vehicle GPS Trackers
  • Pet GPS Trackers
  • Backup data link to router. (https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopic=2040480&view=findpost&p=78491727)

Opera Mini Browser
Opera Mini is a browser which recompresses websites especially images before downloading to your device.

Turn on "Opera Mini" mode and the image heavy web is actually usable on IDDIC 64kbps.

if u have transport company or kereta sewa bisnes better go with gps tracking company service. proffesional service  not cheap yo. they monitor the tracking for you.

if u diy type or just have a little thing to track, ori and good gred A clone traker brand come free with 1 year platform tracking service. gps tracker use too little data. 100mb last for few month.

Thanks for the tip.

Yes, you are absolutely right on all three, except for unknown reasons, they didn't impose the one-time RM10 charge for joining the IDD Internet Club. smile.gif
*
bro, have you tried "3. free internet 1.5gb when top up RM30 for 1 month"? What happens with the validity of the data since we have SLL? Does the data follow its own separate validity period of 30 days?

IDD user just forget any freebie using *888# code  cool2.gif
*
Yeah, that's what I was afraid of. I seem to remember reading something about this somewhere but didn't really care since I had planned not to spend any more money on reloads or data on this phone.

QUOTE(raynman @ Feb 4 2016, 06:30 PM)
The free 1.5GB Internet given upon top up of RM30 follows its own 30-day validity period, separate from the SLL validity period.

The entitlement, however, is not automatic.

You need to manually redeem the free 1.5GB Internet using USSD code *888*1# within 3 days after topping up.
*
Thanks for the info on the validity. Have you tried to redeem *888*1# on a phone with IDDIC?

Update
Curiosity killed the cat or in this case RM10 from my bank account. Result:

It works, can redeem. rclxm9.gif Now my daughter has 300MB to use over CNY. She'll be happy about that though she'll probably use it all up in 2 days.

soonwai, I have reconfirmed with Digi Helpline that the 1.5GB Free Internet that comes with 30-day validity upon a RM30 reload is applicable to IDDIC subscribers as well.

Just do a *888*1# after the reload.
*
Double confirmed that. Reloaded RM10 and redeeemed 300mb for 10 days. thumbup.gif

hey, umobile 1gb is forever as long as you top up rm30

this digi 1.5gb, is it forever as well?~

didn't see any word regarding this
Thanks for digging up the info from their TnC. "until further notice" can mean anything but hopefully it'll remain until something better comes along.

Why don't they just make it auto instead of having to redeem? Unfair to those who miss out because they not aware of it or didn't read the SMS recvd after the reload.

Digi Best Prepaid V1
SLL
IDDIC
Music Freedom if you want to stream music
Current reload data promo is a trick by Digi to get SLL users to spend more money :-)
(Remember only 3 days to redeem *888*1#)

Oh, don't forget to set your 10 Best Kawan numbers.

Guys, if you have IDD Internet Club and the free high speed data from DiGi upon reload, there won't be any issues right?
*
Shouldn't be. I did a reload of RM10 yesterday for 300mb free data. As expected the the high-speed quota is now being used.
USSD to check quota: *200*1#

yeah I noticed that too... not sure if it's real or they add 20 kawan slot in the app only because they had offer 20 slot up till last November...
*
At first I thought only 10 also but I MNP on 31 Dec, active on Jan 1 2016, I still have 10 + 10 on MyDigi website. I've successfully added numbers to both digi and non-digi. Currently I have 3 Digi numbers and it says 7/10 slots available. 4 non-Digi numbers and 6/10 available. Let's see what happens when my total of both reaches 10.

Very, very good. I guess DiGi being generous. If you look at their FAQ here: https://new.digi.com.my/prepaid-plans
This is what it says.

Just ported a Umobile Prepaid number to DiGi New Best v1 at DiGi Centre. Made very sure that is v1 & not v2. Took a bit longer due to a glitch but it's still possible.

Weds 2nd: reloaded umobile RM5 to make line active. Request MNP at DiGi Centre. Got 'In Progress' SMS.
Thurs: Got Reject SMS from Umobile due to line inactive. Called UMobile to check. Called DiGi too.
Sat: Received MNP successful SMS.

As usual got 1sen credit with DiGi, subscribed IDDIC (free), reloaded RM50, subscribed SLL (RM38). Claimed *888* 1.5GB.

I meant to say as an alternative to sll and free but slow internet. Since digi offers free high speed internet when you topup and talktime transfer, you can buy credit simply to extend the activation period and to get high speed internet and then sell the credit to somebody. Although the trouble you go through may not be worth it unless you have friends on digi who are actively using their credit. I wanted to know if it really works, if it does then this is an alternative for those on v2.
*
I just tried accessing "Talktime Transfer" (*128*1*7*1#) and it said "...account is not eligible...". I'm on New Best v1 with SLL & IDDIC.

Also tried "International Talktime Transfer" (*128*1*7*1#) and it went on to a country selection menu. Maybe this one works. From here if you select 1. Indonesia, it proceeds to ask you for a +62 number.

Don't worry about long validity prepaid. There will always be a market for it so there will always be someone selling it.

True, but long validity prepaid with always on internet albeit at 64kbps? I think New Best v1 with IDDIC is the only one.
