Just ported a Umobile Prepaid number to DiGi New Best v1 at DiGi Centre. Made very sure that is v1 & not v2. Took a bit longer due to a glitch but it's still possible.

Weds 2nd: reloaded umobile RM5 to make line active. Request MNP at DiGi Centre. Got 'In Progress' SMS.
Thurs: Got Reject SMS from Umobile due to line inactive. Called UMobile to check. Called DiGi too.
Sat: Received MNP successful SMS.

As usual got 1sen credit with DiGi, subscribed IDDIC (free), reloaded RM50, subscribed SLL (RM38). Claimed *888* 1.5GB.

Just a bit disappointed Altel don't have itemissed statement for monthly through online.
Hope that Altel can improve their service.

Thanks for the information. I really need a cheap provider as I rarely use my phone to call or sms, now with whatsapp and such many things can be done over the internet.

I have also decided on getting digi v1 then getting sll and free internet. Has anybody tried buying credit to extend activation and get free fast internet then sell the credit to somebody through talktime transfer? If it works then that is one way to get fast internet and extend activation on the cheap although more hassle.

U need to Mnp to Digi, this is the only way to get v1 now.
Why will u having extra credit?
Example u top up new card with rm50, ssl already use rm38. Mean u do not need to top up in next 365 days. U will only having rm12 balance credit

I meant to say as an alternative to sll and free but slow internet. Since digi offers free high speed internet when you topup and talktime transfer, you can buy credit simply to extend the activation period and to get high speed internet and then sell the credit to somebody. Although the trouble you go through may not be worth it unless you have friends on digi who are actively using their credit. I wanted to know if it really works, if it does then this is an alternative for those on v2.

Telco can change their T&C anytime. There are no firm answer that whether they will disable this feature near future.

I just tried accessing "Talktime Transfer" (*128*1*7*1#) and it said "...account is not eligible...". I'm on New Best v1 with SLL & IDDIC.

Also tried "International Talktime Transfer" (*128*1*7*1#) and it went on to a country selection menu. Maybe this one works. From here if you select 1. Indonesia, it proceeds to ask you for a +62 number.

Don't worry about long validity prepaid. There will always be a market for it so there will always be someone selling it.

True, but long validity prepaid with always on internet albeit at 64kbps? I think New Best v1 with IDDIC is the only one.

Do you know what happens after the 28 months? I couldn't find any info on their website for extended validity.
The statements below is based on the assumption that the intended user is a passive user (one who requires a line for receiving calls with minimum out calls/sms/data).

XOX offers the same 28 months validity plus the option for 1 year extended validity @ RM25 (no further topup required).

OneXOX does not have 1year extended validity option. The only way to extend after the 28 months is by reloading (and also user-get-user can work too but what if all your referrals are also passive user? ). Another way is to mnp out to another and back in the next day ..... smile.gif

My friend wanted to MNP to XOX cos 28months validity.

Xox website info on MNP is misleading.
Info given by dealer is, Dealer cannot MNP. Only XOX centres can.
Anyone know where/how to MNP to XOX?

Umobile and Tunetalk
It makes a difference the source-Telco of MNP?

fella wants to testing, then later consolidate his relatives under XOX, cos 28months validity, and can buy data/minutes in bulk.
